Natonstan and I , have been discussing this one today in depth. We reckon that it goes on your NOA1 date as Natonstan did not submit his waiver letter, even if it doesn't it is worth a try if you are out of processing time at your local office!

Local office in OH says they're processing application received on August 7 2014.

We filed for our AOS towards the end of June 2014 and they received our RFE on August 6.

The interview waiver letter was dated mid October so it'll be 6 months in April.

April happens to be the month when I can renew my AP/ EAD card as well.

Hi and thanks for all the amazing posts.

When do you submit an inqury, because you think you case takes too long?

My EAD and AP was approved in 39 days and but my AOS message haven't updated since september 24th. Almost 6 months.

As of September 24, 2014, we are ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSCxxxxxxxxxxx, for an interview. We will schedule your interview and send you a notice.

I know i'm knowhere near the wait some people have to endure... but still, the Denver Office say that an I-485 form received late january is expected to be processed by late May, so only 3 months

That's not a great letter. GuisseppeG got 2 of them in 2 months and only later did they find that their file was still at NBC...Not sure what to make of this...

For anyone who has gone down the ombudsman method, I have a few questions.

  1. How long did it take from submitted the electronic DHS-7001 form did it take for them to email you back saying they contacted USCIS?
  2. Did you submit a scan of everything you sent to USCIS?
  3. Did you submit the NPIW letter?
  4. Did you have to make an Infopass appointment and submit a service request to do this?
  5. How long do Infopasses take after requesting to schedule? I mean how far out did they give you one?

If my Congressman and/or my service request come back empty then I plan to contact the Ombudsman on April 21 because that is 30 days after the service request and over 60 days after I was outside processing times. But I hope I don't have to also do an infopass before contacting the ombudsman.

Local office in OH says they're processing application received on August 7 2014.

We filed for our AOS towards the end of June 2014 and they received our RFE on August 6.

My local field office also is at August 7, 2014. Mine is Cleveland OH.

Well I haven't done one but I can answer a couple of these questions. It didn't take long to get a response for the people who filled one in on Monday, it did for Natonstan as he wasn't out of processing time. He didn't do a infopass, nor did he attach a NPIW letter. So no need to do an info pass nor attach the NPIW letter!

I think that is the first one Natonstan got, he got all three in a day, followed by the 2nd one which said, you will have a decision with in 30 days. Then another one. I need to find them for you!

Here we go Movin on and for anyone who missed this today. Three letters in one day and then an approval inbetween letters! Enjoy. :)

March 16th 2015: 10:04AM I got this email:

Good afternoon,

The Ombudsman's Office has reviewed your submission and contacted U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) regarding your case.

Please be advised that in certain cases, it may take up to 60 days to receive a response to our inquiry. We will notify you when we receive information from USCIS.

If your circumstances have changed substantially, you may contact us at cisombudsman@hq.dhs.gov and reference your unique submission number 2XXXXX3.

Sincerely,

Office of the Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman

My application was then approved

Then on the 17th at 12:58PM I received:

Dear Sir,

USCIS has indicated that it is actively reviewing the application or petition referenced in your inquiry and should issue a decision in this case within 30 days.

Please inform the Ombudsman at cisombudsman@HQ.DHS.GOV if you do not receive correspondence from USCIS within 45 days. Because USCIS has taken action, our office will be closing this matter.

Thank you for giving the Ombudsman’s Office the opportunity to assist you.

Then an hour later on the 17th at 1:36PM I got:

This message serves as an update to the email sent by the Ombudsman’s Office earlier today, March 17, 2015. USCIS has indicated that it recently issued a decision regarding the application or petition referenced in your request for assistance. If you do not receive the decision notice within 15 days, please contact USCIS at 1-800-375-5283.

Since USCIS has issued a decision, our office will be closing this inquiry.

Thank you for giving the Ombudsman’s Office the opportunity to assist you.

Here we go Movin on and for anyone who missed this today. Three letters in one day and then an approval inbetween letters! Enjoy. :)

Oops seems he got emails the day after approval, not all in one day!
