Hello all,,,Wow what a long day. 7 hours including drive time to an infopass appt that lasts 15 minutes.

Went through security and then waited in line for 20 minutes. Got to the window and spoke to a very nice agent and said that our case arrived at the San Fernando Valley office on March 20th ( our local office), I told him I didnt think that was good because that could mean the they need more documents or an interview (which right now I wouldnt mind). He told me no no that may not be the reason at all. I continued to pry and he did say that it was assigned to an agent on April 4th. I asked him about the lost AP appplication and he said that they are issued together and we should get the AP with the EAD..He insisted that is was true.He also said that NPIW cases can go to ANY office and the normal time frame is one year, I told him I knew that already because of the forum that I am a part of. YOU GUYS!! Then he gave us a number and we waited and waited and waited. almost for three hours. Then our number was called and then THAT is when we met the most uninformed officer that I 'm sure was still in high school! I asked where our case was and he confirmed March 20th at the SFV office and I asked when it was assigend to an agent and he said he was not allowed to give me that information. HUH, interesting, but I did not narc out the first agent that told us the date. I asked if they had eveything they needed to approve, he said was not allowed to tell me. He did say it was still condsidered a Interview waiver. Then I asked about the lost AP, He said I had to talk to my attorney, I told him that the attorney did file i, i asked if I could refile the AP, again he said to talk to my attorney, He said he could not give legal advise lol!! I said maybe you dont understand, the attorney filed them both together and the AP was lost, can I file it again or will it come automatic? He said to talk to my attorney and he held up the EAD card and said to me while laughing "this is not a green card" He continued to keep saying that it was not a green card everytime I asked something, I finally grtiied my teeth and clentched my hands together in front of me and Said "I KNOW THAT IS NOT A GREEN CARD!" The guy was clearly not listening to anything I was asking and keep going to his key board and typing with a smile, I felt as though he was answering email to a friend or something. Then I finally asked how long ROC was taking at this time and he looked at me puzzled. My friends...I had to spell it out for him I said "Removal of conditions for a 2 year card" He said "OH" I dont know every case is different. Ifinally told him thank you, because I wasn't getting any where and we left. My husband was so frustrated because he has a 72 year old mother that is in Canada that lives my herself with no family that my husband has to be on alert for at a moments notice. So i''m not sure what we are going to do about the AP at this point. So that my friends is how an info pass goes at the SFV office.. Gosh I'm so glad I wasted a day off work and the gas and time. Congrats to all the approvals!!! Good night

I can't believe this. This is completely unacceptable. I know exactly how you feel. I also bit my tongue so many times with these people for my wife's sake because you feel like they hold your life in their hands. I bet if it weren't for this you would have let that second officer have it. They know this, they know we're not going to snap at them and that makes them go on a power trip, and they HATE being corrected. It's unfortunate that the majority of these officers are useless, the immigration system is so broken it's ridiculous. I am hoping and praying you get that approval SOON. We will all celebrate that day And it will be soon.

Well Hello everyone. Congratulations to everyone who got approved recently! It is really great. No news for my wife at all. I took some time off from this thread and from checking the status on the USCIS site. I just couldn't look at the same status any longer. We are officially passed one year mark... Let's see what this week will bring. Good luck to everyone who is still waiting!

Good morning Camtor, Good morning Esperad12, Good Morning Peeps,

I can understand you wanting a rest from the forum, I had one yesterday and spent 8 hours updating, my very outdated CV/Resume and making some tasty beef in a crock pot, it was SO tender and yummy, that took 8 hours too on a low heat.

I know you're past 1 year now Camtor, but that means you can smell the card, it's yours and MovinOn and a few other's time now. I was very surprised about the USCIS processing times, my office seemed to have played catch up, instead of being early August they were nearly mid August, so there does seem to be a gear shift lately with applicants. Although really they couldn't go much slower than they have with AOS without it getting really bad press. I guess the Senators, Ombudsman are getting sick of hearing the same old story about it too!

Any way Peeps, may the Green Force be with you all and can't wait to see lots of approvals today!! :)

Removal of Conditions..  TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK

Time to reset the tick tock clock again.   Roll my eyes.

Good morning everyone! I know the forum was quiet yesterday, we missed you shell and MovingOn. I was actually in a meeting a while ago and received a case status notification from USCIS. Looks like USPS picked up the card yesterday and we now have a tracking number. If everything goes smoothly my wife should have her GC in hand tomorrow afternoon. I am really hoping and praying for all of you still waiting on an approval. I know this is frustrating and inconvenient for most of you still waiting but it's coming guys.

That's great news!! No long waits at border control when your wife visits her sick nan!

I think Nlhernan is still waiting for theirs, it's like putting a knife into an open wound really!

I actually don't know how they sleep at night to be honest. There are many K1 applicants waiting months and months to be with their loved ones right now and then all the AOS filers waiting for their GC, makes you wonder what they are actually doing right now? Absolutely no idea!

I have to say, reading your account at SFV makes me realize I can NEVER go to an infopass there. They'd likely deny my husband's green card just to spite me and my flippant replies. I mean, isn't it an INFOpass? Doesn't that imply you will get some information? And if they can't tell you stuff, then what the is the point (I know VJ will be editing, so I'm keeping the word)? You, by being there, gave authorization to get information for your case. This "I'm not allowed to give you that information" was a load of #######. And if you can't get information, then how on Earth is your lawyer supposed to?? Any chance you asked for his supervisor? Did you tell him that he's overpaid, since you know his job better than he does? I'm furious for you. I really feel that you need to write this out explicitly and make a complaint. Both with the USCIS and your congressperson. That person needs to lose his job. Now.

Yes! I would have for sure told him what I thought of him and his training! This system IS so broken. The training should be universal and everyone should be on the same page. I realize all cases are different but there has to be a basic protocol that is clearly not being followed, CLEARLY! They seem to have carte blanche on what ever they do. After we get this GC, I am then writing to Congressmen, Senators and even the President if I have too. This needs to be fixed!

I also did a lot of observing while we were there waiting for three hours. They work at a snails pace, I SAW it, no joke, NO ONE was in a hurry! SOOOO what would make us think they are trying to do anything in a timely manner! Ha! NOT! I'm still so upset about yesterday.

Just recieved biometric appointment for 4/21/15

Can anyone tell me what I need to have my spouse take?

How about a link to this thread so the field office know what really happens with the AOS procedure, as it seems they are clueless after Movin On's experience.

Sorry can't help you, but I am sure someone can answer it! :)

A photo ID, Passport, ID or Drivers License and the Bio appointment I797 paper. That is all we took. You are going on a Tuesday so it should not be too busy. Park in the Parking garage across the street, its free.

You have to fill out a short form when you get there, then wait in line. This part is pretty painless.

I mean, isn't it an INFOpass? Doesn't that imply you will get some information? And if they can't tell you stuff, then what the #### is the point (I know VJ will be editing, so I'm keeping the word)? You, by being there, gave authorization to get information for your case. This "I'm not allowed to give you that information" was a load of #######. And if you can't get information, then how on Earth is your lawyer supposed to?? Any chance you asked for his supervisor? Did you tell him that he's overpaid, since you know his job better than he does? I'm furious for you. I really feel that you need to write this out explicitly and make a complaint. Both with the USCIS and your congressperson. That person needs to lose his job. Now.

I totally agree with you and I thought about asking for supervisor, but he kept going to the computer and typing and I didn't want him to do anything that would case our case for trouble at the moment. But after we get the GC, then I am going to file a complaint. He does need to loose his job, he seemed very preoccupied with something. I wish we could have just stayed and spoke to the first officer I believe he would have given us a lot more info, but at the time he was the check-in guy.

Thank you
