That, I don't know. The last mail that I received from them was that my case was transferred to reno. But then when I talked to the tier 2 earlier, she said that it was transferred to Houston last March 26 from Nbc. Strangely, I received the mail dated march 26. So I'm still confused. I don't know if they sent it back to houston the same day. I guess I'll know if it's in my local field office when I go to my info pass appt. As what another customer service representative told me, Houston office is already processing June 2014 filers.Sorry to hear that you're disappointed with your appointment and that the

No. I was never on a K-1 visa.

I was previously on a F-1 visa, and before that on a H-4 visa.

I joined school for my Masters while on H-4, and then transferred to F-1 student visa so that I could get my 1 year OPT to work upon graduation.

Prior to the 1 year OPT expiration, we filed for our I-485 AOS. Thankfully the timing was just right, else after my OPT expired, I would have had to go back on H-4!

Actually I have never received a NIPW. Funny thing is my husband who filed his employment based AOS filed it at the same time as me and he got his green card approved in 2.5 months at the end of June, while mine almost took a year

What a complete waste of time. My case is still at the NBC. The officer and the senior officer had no idea how interview waiver cases are processed insuring they are adjudicated at the NBC.. I asked him to put an urgent transfer case on the file and process it there. He said that would make it take an extra year. I said that the Cincinnatti office processing times indicate they are processing cases from June 2014. He agreed. I said USCIS are committed to processing cases in the order received. He agreed. I said in that case id only have to wait a month for a local office interview. He agreed and told me to write a letter to the NBC requesting an interview. I said that the NBC won't do that and could he put an urgebt case transfer on it (Tier 2 told me they could do that). He said we can't do that.

As for my expedite, they sent it to the NBC. It's now jailed in Lees Summit.

Back to waiting.

More Beetle Shorts from the true BS experts....Oh, it you have any problems, schedule an InfoPass appt and we can help...More crud...

Can you day useless...

Sorry man, that sucks...

Congratulations! I think that it's fairly unusual for a NPIW case to be transferred to your own local office - usually it goes somewhere obscure. I wonder if that means you're going to get called for interview?

Natonstan what happened with you? Your local office was Houston wasn't it? Did we ever find out which office pressed approve for you?

As for my office visit today, I think I'll drop the Cincinnati office manager a letter telling her how frustrating I found my appointment and how disappointed I was that a senior officer didn't understand their own adjudication process ... then .... da, da darrr ... it's time for the Ombudsman.

Yes it is unusual for it to go to your local FO. I was told by Tier 2 that my case was in the NYC FO as of 2/4, but subsequently it went to Imperial CA where it was adjudicated. I am beginning to doubt whether it was ever in NYC in the first place....Makes ya wonder....

Well, 14 days after approval and they ordered a card produced, today they massaged that a card is being produced. On Monday I anticipate they will let us know that my wife's first name is finished but they are still producing the rest of the card; "...we ran out of green ink, we've been approving too many car...".

Oh well...maybe by the time we get our card, the rest of the old-times will get approved as well...

You can apply for that without the green card, I think.

I've got myself a checking account and credit card no problem without a GC - only need the SSN. Wanted to start to build up a credit history early, so at least it'll be a good number when the green card comes and a mortgage potentially rolls around.

I have also managed to open checking accounts, savings accounts and several credit cards since being here too and have built up my credit score to 'Very Good'. Each day a few pre-approved credit card offers drop into the mailbox. I wish my geeencard was pre-approved and I wish it would drop into the mailbox. Edited by Derwood
