Congratulations!!! Hip, hip hooray!! Doing my happy dance, seem to be getting into shape with all the happy dances I have done this week!:) Thank you for you sharing your story. I wonder if someone at the USCIS actually put the phone down to you and rang the field office. Perhaps a light bulb went on and they had an inspiring moment! Stranger things have happened.

Enjoy your moment, you have the green stuff, go out and celebrate and have a drink for me! :)

Hi everyone, I had a big rise and fall today. But the first thing that I'd like to share with you guys is that I finally got the approval, about 60 minutes ago.
On April 9, 2015, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number MSCXXXXXXXX, and will mail it to the address you gave us.
I had InfoPass interview this morning, talked to USCIS Tier 2 representative for my first time (as suggested by espared12, thank you!), and probably the last time regarding this application, and called the Ombudsman office afterwards. I did not expect this surprise, as none of the above endeavor gave me positive messages.
I'd like to share my experience today with you guys.
1. InfoPass interview. The conversation with the Immigration Officer lasted for about 7 minutes. When the officer learnt that I was there because of NPIW, she spontaneously said there are plenty of such cases without looking at my case details. She told me to wait for a few more months. I mentioned some inconvenience caused by this unexpected delay such as EAD/AP renewal etc, her response was 'but it is free of charge'. I had to add that I must ask for days off to get these things done. I also asked the whereabouts of my case, she said it is in a field office but does not know which one at first. Then I asked her to check in her system. She mentioned a name that I don't have a clue. Basically, she asked me to wait.
2. Tier 2 talk. I called USCIS and talked to Tier 1 representative first. He gave me the same status that I can see online, and asked me if I need him to create another SR. I thanked him and asked him to transfer to Tier 2 instead. Tier 2 representative called me back in one hour, but simply told me to wait, and that is the only thing that I can do.
3. Ombudsman call. I submitted the Ombudsman form on 03-17 and have not heard any updates except for the automatic response on the same day. A lady answered my call. She said no one is looking at my case atm. Their office will contact me when they start to talk to USCIS about my case.
I actually accepted the fact that I have to wait for a few more months and decided not to spend more time on the status. Several hours later, I received two text messages stating Your case MSCXXXXXXXX is now updated. Check "My case Status" at www.uscis.gov
USCIS seems to have started to work on 2014 March and April filers cases. I think people who are still waiting will receive their approvals very soon. Good luck!

It's soooooo great seeing all of these approvals this week!

Congrats to everyone.

Those of us who already got the GC in the last few weeks... once your status changed to the "welcome notice was sent" did it ever update to anything else like a tracking number? How long does it usually take to get the notice in the mail? Mine says I should get it by june but that seems like a long time for mail. LOL.

For our k1 I remember we could track the visa, so just curious if we can track this GC!

AOS

June 26th 2014 - EAD/AP approved.

Good morning Donna and Noelia,

I think it updates, to sent and then probably delivered as the EAD does. Not sure about tracking, probably. As for the time scale I've seen 8 days, but normally around 11 days or so after approval.

Forgot to mention, I know a lot of people that are getting approvals are not showing up to Biometric appointment for their EAD/AP renewals. I actually called USCIS yesterday and explained my wife was approved, but her Biometrics appointment was this morning. The immigration officer sent a message to the local office advising them of the approval and that my wife would not be showing up for that reason. She mentioned Biometrics are valid for 15 months. Just thought I'd let all of you know.

Interesting, so then we have to go for another appointment once 15 months is up? Wow, do they think that our fingerprints may have changed by then? I remember going for the bio metric appointment in August and the guy there taking my picture and him saying make sure you like it as it will be on your GC for years. Yeah right, what GC?

Hi! I think about a week after the "welcome notice sent" message we got an email saying the card was sent and it did come with a tracking number.

Too bad they sent it to our old address in Florida! Luckily our old address is a family friend so she mailed it off yesterday. Can't wait to have that green card in hand!
