Hi everyone, I had a big rise and fall today. But the first thing that I'd like to share with you guys is that I finally got the approval, about 60 minutes ago.
On April 9, 2015, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number MSCXXXXXXXX, and will mail it to the address you gave us.
I had InfoPass interview this morning, talked to USCIS Tier 2 representative for my first time (as suggested by espared12, thank you!), and probably the last time regarding this application, and called the Ombudsman office afterwards. I did not expect this surprise, as none of the above endeavor gave me positive messages.
I'd like to share my experience today with you guys.
1. InfoPass interview. The conversation with the Immigration Officer lasted for about 7 minutes. When the officer learnt that I was there because of NPIW, she spontaneously said there are plenty of such cases without looking at my case details. She told me to wait for a few more months. I mentioned some inconvenience caused by this unexpected delay such as EAD/AP renewal etc, her response was 'but it is free of charge'. I had to add that I must ask for days off to get these things done. I also asked the whereabouts of my case, she said it is in a field office but does not know which one at first. Then I asked her to check in her system. She mentioned a name that I don't have a clue. Basically, she asked me to wait.
2. Tier 2 talk. I called USCIS and talked to Tier 1 representative first. He gave me the same status that I can see online, and asked me if I need him to create another SR. I thanked him and asked him to transfer to Tier 2 instead. Tier 2 representative called me back in one hour, but simply told me to wait, and that is the only thing that I can do.
3. Ombudsman call. I submitted the Ombudsman form on 03-17 and have not heard any updates except for the automatic response on the same day. A lady answered my call. She said no one is looking at my case atm. Their office will contact me when they start to talk to USCIS about my case.
I actually accepted the fact that I have to wait for a few more months and decided not to spend more time on the status. Several hours later, I received two text messages stating Your case MSCXXXXXXXX is now updated. Check "My case Status" at www.uscis.gov
USCIS seems to have started to work on 2014 March and April filers cases. I think people who are still waiting will receive their approvals very soon. Good luck!

Congratulations! :D

According to one of our thread members about a month ago, soon after they got approved they received an I-797 NOA saying because they "...received benefits by other means..." (i.e., GC), their application for EAD was cancelled. So the answer is don't waste your time, stay home and celebrate...

awesome thanks. well just skip the damn thing.

You're absolutely right, nlhernan. I haven't been able to get my immigration 'stuff' organised for the morning. Every time I go to make a start I think 'I can't bare it'. They've worn me down.

I suppose I shouldn't grumble really. I've only been waiting nine months. No sign that this will end anytime soon though.

Goodnight all. I'm having an early night. I need to be Mr Charming for my infopass tomorrow - it's my only hope of getting some / any info on my case.

Good luck with info pass.We went because our time line was outside the guidelines, and hubbys US visa was expired and because when hubby tried to get a drivers licenses homeland security couldn't verify his lawful presence which means no traveling by air in the US.

They did help with the lawful presences but the being outside the guidelines we were told this is the new norm because they are so back logged as we all already know at visa journey,ha ha.

Good luck!

Congrats!!
