Timeline

I think a service request goes off your local field office processing times and my NOA1 date is middle August. I didn't get the letter until 4 months after that event, it figures!

My local field office is currently at the beginning of July, so I doubt when they up date their processing times I will be able to do it still. I am probably going to have to wait until May. Then I will be 9 months past NOA1 and 5 months past the letter! Tick Tock!

I was thinking, when we would call USCIS not even tier 2 was aware of the NPIW letter until I would make mention of it. I'm wondering if you call, and don't mention receiving NPIW letter if they will open a service request and have it sent to the NBC because of the 9 months you've been waiting already. Might be worth a shot.

Thanks Shell, we will see what happens, nlhernan said that today sounds good ....tick tick tick

Is tomorrow your 1 year anniversary?

No, April 1st was the one year received date and April 7th is the notice date. I read that USCIS will go by the "received" date for the date of filing. So it has been 1 year and 8 days now.

Quick question about calling USCIS and trying to get to a Tier 2 person?

I called for the first time this morning and was told by Tier 1 rep. that they could not give me the information because they needed authorization from my spouse that is was ok to discuss the application. Did anyone else run into this? So basically we have to be in the same room whenever I call.

Any thoughts?

June 11 - "Welcome to America" letter received!!!!!! WE WENT GREEN!
March 10 - Packet sent to CSC
March 13 - Delivered
March 15 - Check Cashed
March 17 - NOA Arrived

Oh ok

I rang up when the EAD/AP was beyond processing times (there's a surprise... NOT) and they did ask if I was the beneficiary. I think it's to do with the data protection act or the equivalent of what we call data protection in England.

You need your spouse's permission to discuss their case. I am not sure if like in England they can put it in writing or ring up and say I give permission for my spouse to ring up on my behalf, you can do that in England but the law might be different here.

YUP, happens to me every time! So its hard for me to talk to a Tier 2 because I have to work. I cant take off every afternoon or morning to call and wait for a Tier 2 to call back. Because one time when the Tier 2 called back I was already back at work and my husband was at home and the Tier 2 would not talk to me. So the applicant has to be there to "OK" for them to talk to you with either a Tier 1 OR a Tier 2. Very frustrating!

Or you can do a conference call like Rebor said. My cell dose not have conference calling so I was unable to this.

http://www.uscis.gov/policymanual/HTML/PolicyManual-Volume1-PartA-Chapter5.html Here we go, you can however get your spouse to send in a notarised statement to give you permission to speak on their behalf it seems.

Similarly, prior to responding to a non-Congressional third-party case inquiry, a written, signed, and notarized privacy release must be obtained from the applicant or petitioner.

Yup, you can do a notarized statement also.

I called one time and they wanted to ok it with my husband I told the Tier 1, "the only reason we have to call you is because of "ME" I am the reason "HE" is here and I signed a paper to say "I" was responsible for "him" and now you cant talk to "Me"?? LOL..I was a little miffed!
