Just received a letter from USCIS two days ago that says "potential for interview waiver". Although they did mention that it will take for about 6 months or so, how long did it take for those who had their AOS few years ago??

Mine took 9 months from application (Late October 2014) and I was approved 12 days ago which was 5 months after getting the NPIW letter. I'm still waiting for my green card so when that arrives it will be about 10 months total. If you receive RFE's that might delay things.

We called again yesterday and they confirmed it is in fact at the local office. Which one? No idea. Tier 2 agent said there is nothing we can do now but sit and wait some more and that we should have communication soon. My husband's medical expired in June...so we are now crossing our fingers we don't get an RFE for it. If we don't hear anything from USCIS in 3 weeks, we will put a 3rd service request. We are hoping we don't have to go there. This is so frustrating!

Hi, According to the USCIS web page, you have another year after applying for AOS, in that case your medical exam expiration date will be in September.

I wish I could say it will be fast, but I would be lying...after 6 months (we got the letter Dec. 11 2014) we called on June 12, 2015 to learn that the package was still siting in Lee Summit...and now over 45 days after that it's finally at some local office waiting to be picked by an agent for processing...

ANJOS, sweetswinks & M&Adam, I have been browsing to the past few years posts and I've noticed that it took them a year and so. Thanks for all of your comments to my question. It took me 3 months when I did receive the NPIW and been through the harder way of starting a life here in America. All it really takes is patience and things will move not on how we expected them to be. Barely waiting for my SSN and DMV ID to arrive maybe after 2 weeks so I can move forward. Thank you guys!

It took us just under 11 months to get approved.

OH NO!

Came home to a dreaded RFE. (FYI, the case status still reads fingerprint accepted Sept. 8th and I did not get a text or email about this).

They didn't ask for a medical (again, thanks ANJOS!), but rather both of our G-325 forms which I have saved filled out copies of so they were definitely in the original package....UGH. But the great news is that SOMEONE IS WORKING ON IT since this Monday (RFE dated July 27th and the address is from Sacramento California, we live in New York City - so that's cool *eye roll*). Overnighting these papers first thing in the morning!

Wow sounds like an easy RFE like what we got. You should hear something within a week or two!

Btw, my status didn't change at all either about the RFE. It went from fingerprint fee to welcome letter was sent.

(New Card Being Produced - On July 31, 2015, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number MSCxxxxxxxxxxxx, and will mail it to the address you gave us. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.)

No welcome letter and no notification about registering my card or my resident. After one week of receiving my RFE (Medical Exam + Marriage Certificate).

Let's see how much it takes to reach me

Good Luck Everyone, just hang on. It is really long journey with lots of stress and anticipations. But eventually it will happen (sooner or later)

Mine was also took a week to get approved from the date they received it.

And it happens that people don't get welcome letter and in fact one of my friends received AFTER she moved to another state a year later. Luckily her neighboor still keep in touch and forward the welcome letter to her.
