First of all welcome!

Yeah, the system is a little weird and unpredictable. You tried to do the right thing by applying for a K1 and your case is moving slower than your friend's who skipped the K1 completely.

Based on comments and timelines from people at this forum and with a conversation that I had with a tier 2 representative, it seems that the process for those who received the NPIW is about 1 year from the time you sent your applications.

I hope you applied for your EAD and AP so you can drive, work and travel in the interim time.

Do not worry about the Marines. It is not like they are going anywhere…

Just relax and enjoy the ride.

Thanks!

I am keeping myself busy with school, work and gym, i just felt down for a little bit.

So, it might be that i'll get the GC around January, if that's the case, i'll patiently wait. The reason the timing worries me is because i just turned 27 and their cut off age for enlistment is 28. We'll see what happens! I'm up and motivated again. Thank you for your encouraging words!

Same here. Since November which is the date I received this NPIW letter. Nothing happened. I filed an e-request over the phone. Nothing happened and they did not even assign my request for processing yet.

This is the reason I don't want to file a service request. To wait on the phone for hours just to file a service request that won't do anything. I might do it if I don't hear anything by next month..

Based on my 1 year standard predictions, your case should be resolved by the end of July.

Have you tried contacting USCIS Tier 2 yet?

If you haven't, call USCIS today and request to speak to a Tier 2 representative. There might be about 3 hours of waiting, so call in early .

the tier 2 representative will be able to tell you where is your case located at. If your case has already transfered to a local office, that means that it just be resolved within 2 months.

good luck and keep us informed.

I haven't called USCIS yet, since I've seen many people who've done service requests and it didn't do anything. I may end up calling USCIS if I don't hear anything by next month, because I won't have a choice. Thanks and good luck to you too. I will definitely post if I get any update.

Ok, I called USCIS today and spoke to Tier 2 employee. He told me the same info on the website. I asked where is my file now. He said, there is an update on my file and it is now in transit. He does not know from where to where. It is just updated today and it is in transit now. Well, at least they touched it and did not forget it on a remote shelf. So, I will sit back and relax now and wait for another update soon. Hopefully my papers will reach the office field soon and they will inform me about what will happen next. I will forget it for the time being and move on with my life. Will keep you updated. Good Luck everyone :)

Darn it!

I got the result of my TB test and it was positive. I had no idea how come it happened. My X-ray was fine back in my country. I hope it is false positive result as many people have experienced.

Oh, I also got varicella vaccine. My husband paid $125 for only one vaccination. This afternoon I will have my X-ray taken and wish me luck. I think am needed it a bit, lol.

Was this the skin test? Did you have a BCG vaccine back home? BCG vaccines are known for giving false positive skin tests, so that might what happened to you.

I would guess that it's actually at your local office, since that's the place where you're mailing your response. More proof that the USCIS doesn't know what the hell it's doing. :(

We got an RFE for my husband's medical from the Chicago service center. I Fed Exed it and today it showed as attempted delivery, but no one there. Did I do the wrong thing by using Fed Ex??? It was a physical address so I thought it was ok. Freaking out because I was so excited to have things moving along and now I think I messed up!.

Got the NPIW letter today. :sleepy:

Considering the size of this topic (and the previous one) and the small number of GCs approved on the timeline in the past 6 months, looks like for USCIS giving this letter is more the rule than the exception.
