AMSTERDAM, Netherlands (AP) - Slobodan Milosevic, the former Yugoslav leader, who was branded "the butcher of the Balkans" and was on trial for war crimes after orchestrating a decade of bloodshed during the breakup of his country, was found dead Saturday in his prison cell. He was 64.

Milosevic, who suffered chronic heart ailments and high blood pressure, apparently died of natural causes and was found in his bed, the U.N. tribunal said, without giving an exact time of death.

Kinda sad that the guy didn't live through his trial - a lot of people were wanting justice to be done for their dead relatives.

true...it is a sad fate for those folks....that did not get their closure...

true...it is a sad fate for those folks....that did not get their closure...

He did die a lonely death locked up in a jail cell, didn't he?

ah reinhard, to most people whose loeve one died or were tortured..that is not a justified death..he needed to be found guily and hung or shot..to quietly die unexpectedly in a cell...they leftthe family members..without the psychological closure they needed....
