Should I disclose Criminal Trespass Warning?

Hello All,

I just have few questions in filling out the n400 form

In May 2013, I got a PHONE CALL from a cop and was basically asked if i drove by this certain person's house, which i said yes to. I was given a verbal warning (over the phone) not to trespass on this person's property which I never did to begin with, and just drove by one time. Of course, I never have up to now and do not intend to get myself in trouble. Today, I went to the police station to obtain a report on that particular incident, this officer told me that I was not ARRESTED (obviously), NOT CITED (in his own words is like a speeding ticket), neither detained (it was over the phone). (I obtained a report on that incident btw) Basically told me, I have nothing to worry about. I am not worried whether this incident would keep me from succesfully obtaining citizenship, but Im worried that not disclosing it, would..But if I am to dissect the question "Have you ever been ARRESTED, CITED OR DETAINED BY ANY LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER FOR ANY REASON", I could honestly say with clear conscience and full knowledge, that this does not apply to the above mentioned incident. Nonetheless, I can't help but overthink it. Can anyone who may have the same experience or knowledge, enlighten me please?

- and also, I failed to stop at a stop sign before but yet again, let go with just a "verbal warning"

Up to this point, I have never been arrested, or charged or convicted or even had any encounter that ended up in court. The farthest Ive gone is basically this Verbal Warning,

You were not arrested, cited, or detained, so you do not need to disclose it. Don't over-analyze it.

You only disclose what actually happened, Such as, Felony, Misdemeanor, Citiation, Tickets....Disclose anything what is on your record. Do not bother for what is not on your record.

If officer at the time of interview ask you. Have you even been in trouble with the law, You and the officer know the answer "NO" They already did your investigation. So if not changed, or been in trouble they do not care.

you can tell the office at the time of interview. Which i am sure officer will ignore it.

well I have no criminal record for sure, but when I went to the sherrifs department, they told me of these warnings.. do these not count as records even if when ran at the police department, they show up in their system??..but again, as far as charges or convictions or anything beyond just a warning or even anything given to me in a piece of paper, I have none of that..

This was a verbal warning. You were not "arrested, cited or detained." You were spoken to on the telephone. That counts as nothing. Zero. Nada. Stop fretting.

I know that this post is kind of old already, but has anyone had similiar experience? I am still on the limbo of whether or not to disclose this criminal trespass warning? Again, it was just over the phone I was warned, although surely when I went to the police station, they have it in their in-house database/system? I dont wanna draw unnecessary attention to my application if there's really no need for it by not disclosing it, but at the same time, I wanna be as truthful as I can be. Im just getting paranoid over this. Thanks all

So some stranger whose house you drove by called the police and a police officer called you about it? How did the police know to call you of all the people that drove by that person?

Or rather, someone you know and with whom you no longer have friendly relations thought your drive by was threatening enough to call the police and report you?

In either case, and as all the other respondents have mentioned, you've got nothing to worry about. But I'm a sucker for a good story so do tell. Who lives at the house?

the latter. Somebody I know with whom I no longer have friendly relations with called up the cops.. that person has my phone number, so yeah, the cop called me and asked me of the incident on that day. I confirmed that I drove by and then he said, I am being warned not to trespass their property or else I could be arrested on the spot of which I have no intention of doing. My action in itself wasn't even trespassing since obviously, they do not own the street. But I didnt think there was really any point of arguing with the cop so i just said "ok"..and these all were just over the phone. This happened May 2014, even before I filed for my ROC. and obviously, I already have my 10 yr GC. I'd like to think there really is nothing to disclose, because it wouldn't be a lie to say NO to questions of being "arrested, nor cited, nor detained (over the phone???I dont think so), nor charged, nor convicted,,i went to the police station just recently in March '15, and indeed, there is this incident report of warning.. It was pretty stupid, basically his words against mine..but I didn't wanna drag it on, so I just confirmed, I received and understood the warning..
