Hi,

As you may know, my immigrant visa application was put on AP since 18 Dec 2014. Since then, my status update date was changed twice.

First change was on the day following my inteview at US Embassy 19 Dec 2014

Second change was 20 Feb 2015

This morning at 8:30am local time, I noticed another change to the status update date which is today's date 17 Mar 2015.

Today's update was for all family members (The Principal Applicant and accompanied wife and daughter)!

FYI ... All updates were without me sending emails or giving calls to check on status.

This is the first time the update made for all family. Is there any readable indication for this? Also, I believe the update was made by the Embassy and not by states due to the time difference and the status was checked until yesterday night and no change.

Any idea?

Thanks

Any time somebody makes a change in your case, the date will change. Its a good sign, it means they are actually working on it. It is the embassy making the changes or updates. The embassy is part of the department of state. They are the ones who will issue your visa. Good luck. I'm sure you'll hear something soon. It's St.Patrick's Day. Luck is on your side?

Experience....my husband just arrived in the US 2 months ago. I also have a friend who works for the dept of state. I asked her about the updates and she told me the date changes when somebody updates a field. It does not update if somebody is just viewing the screens..you'll hear something soon.

I was looking for another update to happen today, but seems nothing as yet!

A friend of mine happened to have updates on three consecutive days and he received an email from the Embassy asking for the medical checks and passports to be mailed to them to finalise the visa application.

Seems like I have to wait longer!

Hello All,

I would love to know what the updates mean as well. I am getting sick/annoyed of the wait/process, i'm starting to go into depression because of how long it is taking. My fiance was put in A/P after the interview, they didn't tell her she was approved but took her passport. They did say "it won't take long" at the end of the interview.

Below are the updates I had:

Feb 25 - Interview date - Status changed to A/P

Of course there were more updates to the CEAC after December 30th. His visa was issued on January 12th so there were probably 4 or 5 more updates and of course the status change to READY, then AP then Issued.
You will never know what the updates are. It could be just them entering a date or entering follow up info in a field. Or the file moving from one officers desk to another officers desk. I had tons of updates. I have no idea what they were doing. I was just glad someone was working on it after spending 11 months at the USCIS with no way to even know if someone was working on my file
