After almost a year of being approved, nothing but disappointment from NVC.

You must call and bring this to the attention of a supervisor over at NVC. Also, have you received your case number beginning with SDO? This will mean your case has already entered the consulate in Santo Dominigo, Dominican Rep, even though the NVC has your documents.

I have called so many times, and every time I asked for a supervisor, there is no one available. THAT IS ALWAYS THEIR ANSWER. the last time I called, they ende up hanging up the phone on me. The girl hung up because when I asked to speak to a supervisor, I quickly said, "let me guess, there no one available", I know it was a smart ### comment, but after calling 87 times, and not being able to talk to a supervisor, anyone can get on a nasty mood. My case number was created on April last year. I have submitted IV applications, and supporting civil documents. That is all fine, the problem that I am having is with my AOS. THEY LOST DOCUMENTS TWICE, AND INSTEAD OF ASKING TO FIX MULTIPLE THINGS AT ONCE, THEY KEEP ASKING TO FIX ONE AT THE TIME. THAT IS REALLY STUPID BECAUSE IT TAKES THREE MONTHS TO FIND OUT IF EVERYTHING IS OKAY OR NOT.

Have you tried calling the NCV and asking what is holding up the process. Maybe a missed or incorrect filed document. One year seems to be longer then normal. Praying you get answers soon. Good luck.

Thank you, I hope so too.

I would advise u to get an attorney to complete your case for you.best of luck and sorry to hear that.

there is absolutely nothing an attorney can do...NOTHING

To the OP, my husband's case was stuck at the NVC for no apparent reason. After a month I contacted my senator's office and the day after her liaison contacted the NVC my case was closed. Contact your US senator's office

Don't you hate that? They fixate on things that are just minor things that can be fix at time of interview. A friend of mine received a checklist because she inverted the years!! Can you believe that!? She has zero income because she is a full time student, but her parents are being her joint-sponsor. She started with 2011,2012,2013 instead of the most recent year. Keep in mind that her income for every single one of those years was 0... NVC IS RIDICULOUS!

Am I supposed to contact my senator instead of my local congressman? I have been trying to contact my congressman for a while now.

You should contact all 3: your two senators and congressman. You might have better luck with one (or both) of the senators than your congressman.

Great! I will get in that right now. I will send a couple of emails tonight, and tomorrow, and everyday after that until I get an answer. Thank you so much.

Not quite but almost.

Took about a year to get approved by USCIS (lawyers office contributed by not sending some docs). At NVC since october. Recently responded to a checklist.

Was at USCIS during the terrible horrible backlog. At NVC when it got transferred there.

Some people just have worse luck than others during this process. Maybe you are compensated in other ways.

Best of luck and i hope that things work out for you ASAP. Please contact congressman and senator(s)

By the time he gets here you wont have to ROC at least. There is a positive! I hope your senator can help you out.

I am really sorry to hear about your case because I completely understand your pain. It is really hard to understand that the only thing stopping us from being with our loved ones, it is just somebody's incompetence to do their job. I know I sound like I want to put all the blame on NVC, but to be honest, I think that A LOT OF THE PETITIONS THAT ARE STUCK THERE ARE MAINLY BECAUSE NVC FAILS TO EITHER EXPLAIN IT BETTER, AND THEIR LACK OF BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE. I wish you luck, and please keep me up to date with your process.

I don't know what ROC is, but if you say he won't have to, that sounds great to me. One thing that I am curious about is the whole communication system with NVC. I have sent several emails, and it takes from 39 days to 45 days to get an answer, and when I do get one, this is what it says "WE RECEIVED YOUR ENQUIRY, PLEASE ALLOW US A LEAST 60 DAYS TO REVIEW YOUR DOCUMENTS" that doesn't make sense to me! Does communicating with them via email actually delays my process? Do I reset anything every time I contact them? I am really over my head on this.. IT IS SO CONFUSING ?????

I agree I think your politicians can help a lot in your case. On the bright side, they're not telling you that your case is in AP with no timeframe whatsoever. That's what NVC is doing to me, they put my case on AP and they said the 60-day limit does not apply to me, I almost have no hope anymore. I hope your's goes smoother, but please do contact a politician, it's not as hard as it sounds. Good luck!

I believe ROC=removal of conditions. Unlike us K-1 filers, your fiance will have a gc on arrival and he can work ASAP. That's the upside to your process. You obviously are having to deal with the downside!

It does! They actually treat e-mails just like incoming documents for review, so the timer will be set back to another 60 days based on the date of the e-mail. We found that communicating with NVC via e-mail is very ineffective and slow, so we just gave up on it and only called.

Shoot! It is good to know. It is useless anyways! It takes almost 50 days to get an answer, and when you, the answer is "PLEASE ALLOW US 60 DAYS" THIS THE DEPARTMENT IT IS COMPLETELY BROKEN..
