US immigration status during K1 process, pre NOA2 - for tax purposes

Hello :-)

I am doing my taxes for the 2014 tax year. I have been back to my country since October and my visa is no longer valid as of early October. However, we are in the waiting stages for the K-1 visa.

the instructions say to write "not present in US - no US immigration status" if I didnt have a status on December 31.

I´d like to confirm that I really dont have a status right now - because as I understand I dont have a status until I actually get the K-1 visa. But i dont want to write the wrong thing either :-D

Thanks!

Filing the I-129F does not grant you an immigration status AFAIK, so if you did not have any other status at the end of last year and you were out of the country, you should indeed write "Not present in U.S.—No U.S. immigration status" per the instructions.
