Is this the thread where we talked about Chocolate? I did a blind taste test today. And the winner is--

1) Galaxy

2) Cadbury's Dairy Milk (US)

3) Cadbury's Dairy Milk (UK)

My husband brought pounds and pounds of chocolate home from his visit.

Your order of preference is the same as mine. I prefer Galaxy to Cadbury's.

I like the Dove dark chocolate, but we don't get dark Galaxy (or not that I've seen). Do you prefer Dove to Galaxy? It's a curiosity based question as I've never done a like for like comparison.

Lol I love very bitter dark chocolate and Neil is like ewww that is disgusting. And I'm not a fan of English chocolate just simply because it's so much sweeter. Lol

There is not much that I do like here in Texas... the violence; the lack of public transport; now the open carry law has been passed, watch how the violence level increases; it is only mentally challenged folk such as the current governor and his ilk that think it will not increase...

Well I live in TN so the gun thing I'm just use to. I don't agree with all the carry laws but the guns in the south have been around a long time. And the lack of public transportation I understand as in the south it is much more rural than up north or in bigger cities. You might be happier if you guys moved or you learned to drive? Just a suggestion.

Sorry! but America does not do chocolate right......

Cadbury's milk chocolate is the only real chocolate. But those dang Merkins bought the company and are now messing with this masterpiece.

Dove comes close to Galaxy... so most cravings can be kept at bay with that.

And to tie this post into the topic, this is one thing that you will have to adjust to when you get out here.

Thank you, goodnight and may your gods go with you",

I know I can get Lindt and Ghiradelli there so I'm all sorted with my chocolate needs :D I can live without Cadbury's.

Deborah, I love bitter dark chocolate. William likes the sweeter dark. It has worked nicely on visits - I buy some and he buys some and we switch. I may have to send a shipment over when I move so that he isn't short-changed!

haha well I wish we could do that Lee but sadly he hates anything dark. And if you guys have a world market near you or if you look online a lot of times you can get I know chunky kit kats and some other english chocolates there. I have picked up a few for him when he came to visit. As I'm sure we will have to find someone to send him some so he can get his fill. haha

I will eat anything chocolate, even a handful of those bitter little chips you put in cookies if that's all I can find in the pantry. Desperate times.

Dark is not my first choice but acceptable. When we did the taste test with UK vs US Cadbury Dairy milk, I found the UK version to have a little more bite like dark chocolate has. The US version is definitely creamier and mooshier. Even my daughter had the same comment. You haters might even call it slimier, but I call it deliciously awesome. There is seriously not that much difference. I was expecting more considering all the people who said it tasted like vomit.

 I've moved overseas and back several times and I honestly can't say that food items have ever been something I've pined for. I just don't buy those things here. I might miss Kinder chocolate though. Does that help you see me as a better person :D

I have found muffins on sale at a local Circle K gas station that has those. Damn they are good. But the Calories are obscene.

Please note, this is NOT an admission that American chocolate is good. I just can appreciate what can be done with substandard ingredients.
