Regarding Obama and Holder references, I think that argument holds some traction because they seem to get involved in local issues more than previous Administrations in my lifetime.

From my recollection, I don't remember Clinton, Bush, Bush, or Reagan weighing in on individual cases - certainly not to the degree we have seen over the last 6 years.

I do remember Bush addressing the nation regarding the Rodney King beating and riots and he took a much more neutral approach.

True dat.

And Obama has been proven wrong in every (local) issue he sticks his nose into (G Zimmerman, Cambridge police department, and Officer Wilson). It is funny how those so offended by a supposed "rush to judgment" by the majority are the absolute quickest to label any perceived slight racism.

Even though this was a local issue, it affects black people across the U.S. If racism against blacks and police profiling was only limited to Ferguson, then I would not understand why he would say anything.

But when you got people referring to the President of the U.S. as a monkey, within the U.S., just because he is black, it is a problem. I live in Texas and I have dumb a$$ asking me am I going to Ferguson. Huh?

The actions of one black person always get the black race vilified when the actions of one person from another race does not.

A police department making money off of poor people is utterly ridiculous. How are criminals employed to catch criminals?

Even if its race related, the administration should remain neutral. They made the Cambridge issue about race and had to apologize thereafter.

Our country is about justice for all. For a President to ignore that would not be a President.

Oh man, it seems no one these days gets the notion of separation of powers. The last thing I want is an executive branch delivering justice. The second to last thing I want is the legislation dictating foreign policy agreements.

Owww I get it. Separation of powers.

Police leaving their biased views at home so they can do their jobs like the government intended for them to do when they were created. Thanks for clarifying.

The police are a broader issue. Over time people's fourth amendment rights have been eroded by our government. Things like stop and frisk are a clear violation of the Constitution.

savages!!

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Senator Barack Obama
Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt

The perps are just punks. Well, actually "damn punks" according to the guy who instigated the activity.

The gunman who wounded two police officers in Ferguson, Mo., is a “damn punk,” Attorney General Eric Holder said Thursday.

A punk with a very good aim. I would say the shooter was professional.

Sound like something that would benefit those who'd like to see Ferguson go off like a roman candle... Perhaps a sniper hired by white supremacists to instigate more violence?

Unlikely a sharpshooter. These shots were fired from over 100 yards with a handgun. There were over 20 policemen standing shoulder to shoulder. All the murderers needed to do was fire in the general direction.

That's a good stance to take if you're planning to commit murder in public. I would not recommend the Lady Gaga approach. It makes for very short lived careers as muscle for hire.

well they wouldn't want to be too obvious.
