which cover sheet to submit (split topic)

I was reading this thread and I have a question if anyone can answer.

I see in all the guides there's a cover sheet for PACKAGE IV. If we submit both AOS and IV together which COVER SHEET should be attached with the PACKAGE IV since visa fee hasn't been invoiced yet.

you do not need the cover checklist sheet that accompanies the welcome letter after the aos fees have been paid....but you need the aos bar coded sheet that you receive electronically after you have paid the fee. send one copy in both packages asap, the sooner the better, as this will be your scan date. approx 60 days after your scan date you should get cc.

There is a lot of talk here about having separate AOS/IV packets...the directions from travel.state.gov clearly say send only one packet.

After you collect your Affidavit of Support form(s) and financial evidence in Step 4, and supporting documents in Step 5, you must submit all of your forms, financial evidence, and photocopies of your original civil documents in ONE package to the NVC. Your case may be significantly delayed if you fail to submit all of your documents in one package.

The Welcome Letter checklist also clearly states to attach it to the top of your documents. travel.state.gove also clearly states this, too....

If neither Method 1: Email processing nor Method 2: Choice of processing applies to your case, mail your financial forms and evidence, supporting documents, translations, and photocopies, with the Document Cover Sheet included with your NVC Welcome Letter, to the following address:

31 Rochester Ave. Suite 100
Portsmouth, NH 03801-2914

...they do not really even talk about the other bar coded sheet from the payment portal which I attached but wonder if I needed it....
It appears things have changed. I am sending off my package today. I will let you know if things work out.

i totally get what your saying. as I read that too, however, many people have NOT submitted the checklist but just the barcoded page and have had cc without a checklist.

I posted this question some time ago as we did not attach the checklist with the AOS package (it was an oversight) and many people replied to my post with "we did not send the checklist, only the barcoded sheet and had no problems", so I don't think its really that big of deal. we did send it with the IV package though since this was sent in later. We EP'ed our packages and required multiple emails since our files we rather large. I believe its the barcode nvc wants and needs to process your case, not the checklist per say.

My thought is that if following their directions will somehow ingratiate me to them....then I will do whatever they ask. I am hoping they will be so surprised somebody actually read the directions, they will look past any errors I accidentally made.

In the end, I just want to give them the information they want in the format that they want.

Any way...we will find out if it works out as the package was sent off today!!
