Please help! Don't know what to do about the MEDICAL.

I would appreciate it of anyone could give me a good advice regarding the following problem. I am US citizen petitioning for my mother who is already in the US. I was getting ready to send off my mom's AOS package and was waiting on her medical exam to arrive. She mailed it to me and it arrived yesterday. Before I had a chance to warn my husband not to open it, he opened it thinking it was photos from my parents. I have no idea why he thought that beause the envelope had M.D. stamps all over it. Does anyone know if it is possible to obtain another sealed envelope with the forms from the same doctor? I am assuming it should not be a big problem because the doctor conducted the medcal exam and should have all the records. I do not want to pay any more money if we do not have to. I would try to see if you can phone the physician in Russia and see if they can send you another copy (explain the ordeal). Or maybe if you sent it back that they could re-seal it (might take more time). See what you can do from there - you would think that they would just send you another one - you may need to pay for the shipping, etc.

Thanks for the reply. However, my mother is already in the US. She is in New York and that is where she had her medical exam done last week. She said she would go back to the physician and see if he can give her a new copy. I just wanted to know if it's that easy.

I think you should start by contacting the physician...they can probably tell you what you need to do in order to get a sealed copy. Good luck

The solution to this problem turned out to be pretty simple. The physician who conducted the exam and filled out the forms asked to bring the filled out paperwork back and will reseal it in a new envelope at no additional charge. If everything else immigration-related was that simple...
