after NVC sends my K-1 to consulate, what is my next step

do I call the embassy or do they mail or e-mail me something, I have the new number and invoice number etc, I'm just curious as to what I do next, I have search this site many times and I have not been able to find the info, needed, please help or send me to right form to find out please

What I did was, I sent them email with my VAC***** (case number) as the subject line.

And they replied to me with Packet 3. I also received the approval via Post mail and instruction to download Packet 3.

The moment you received Packet 3, you can email or fax them back with the ticked and signed Check List right away. It doesn't matter if you have all the documents ready. That way you can have your Packet 4 early, and you can book/schedule your appointment on the date that you are sure that all documents in Packet 3 be ready and complete. You will need these for your interview.

You can't book your medicals, until your interview is booked.

You can email now if you have your case number. As it takes them 48 hours to reply.

I think it depends on your embassy.. look at the Embassy Info here on VJ. For example, my case is Riyadh and the Riyadh Embassy uses all electronic. ie: they email you the "packet 3" aka the K-1 Packet

and most everything is done electronically and the only time we use mail there is for the final step once all documents are gathered; we mail in the ds-160 confirmation, passport photos and passport copy so that the embassy can schedule the interview
