well, its only the fingerprinting bit, but it does make me nervous, I guess just seeing the office we'll be heading to for the AOS interview has some impact on me.

By the way, anyone know if its normal for my kid to have an appointment?

He is 9 years old.... I thought minors under the age of 14 didnt require a biometrics appointment?

I never paid the fee either, only included it in my check... just plain odd!

I looked on his letter today, whilst getting paperwork together for AOS interview (just to be prepared!) and noticed it had his own AOS MSC number mentioned, but next to it also my EAD reference.

And on top of the form it said 'filed for AOS & EAD' but I only filed an AOS in his name?

Well, I told school he would be absent for immigration purposes, and I will take him with me, along with his letter just to be on the safe side, but still.... it all feels odd to me!

Anyhow, will post on Monday how things went, its prob a basic thing, over in a bit, but it makes me nervous none the less, I assume because this feels like the real 'beginning'.

Hey Sheridan,

Dont worry about the Biometrics in Omaha, they're all really nice there. Hey, even the security guards are great, they know me and my hubby well now, we've been there many times. Just remember to bring your passport as id or something with name and photo on.

As for the appointment also for your son, they take digital photos too, so I guess he needs that for the AOS and eventual greencard. I dont know if they'll take his fingerprints or not.

My Stepdaughter is 13. She had to do biometrics for the AOS. It is for the Green card. They don't do a background check on them as they would an adult. She even had her AOS appointment before My Wife. Really kind of dumb of USCIS as her approval ( stepdaughters) is very dependant on Mom's AOS interview approval. Our interview with My Wife is Arril 4th in San Jose Ca.

I suppose the $70 is purely for the fingerprinting then!

And tracy, we got lucky to have both at same time, so far our file seems to be pretty consistant, I sure hope it stays that way!
