I checked the guides under the NVC heading and tried to find what I was looking for, but couldn't. I have a hard time understanding all this, so I may be asking something that was covered, but I didn't understand. When my petition arrives at the NVC are they going to send something to me? Do I need to send anything back to them?

I didn't get anything from NVC. I called them in about 2 weeks after I received the NOA2 and was given our case number by one of the operators and was told it's under AP.

My NOA2 date was3/2, and my case arrived at the NVC 3/6! I called them on 3/7, gave them my receipt number from the USCIS, answered some other questions about my fiancee's name and birthdate, and was then told my case arrived the day before, and gave me my case number along with which Consulate it was being sent too.

When your petition arrives at the NVC they will in turn ship it to the consulate where the interview takes place. They will send you a letter in the mail stating what your case number is. I called to find out when they received our petition, and when it left for the consulate. I believe someone posted the number. It's not too long of a wait, when you call.

You should recieve a letter in the mail stating that they recieved your case and it is being sent to your countries embassy...I also called to check on it and then a couple days after I called I got the letter in the mail.

For the K-1 about all the NVC does is assign a case number and ship the petition to the embassy. Good luck

Thanks for all the help guys. No wonder I wasn't really getting what was being said under the pinned guide. It seemed to be talking all about the AOS. It would be nice if someone included a pinned guide about the NVC. Maybe it's really not necessary except for silly people like me since the NVC doesn't really do anything with the K-1 visa except give it a case number.
