We were approved on 2/2. Case number assigned 2/18 and since then it's in AP. Given that the life of I 129F approval is 4 months and it's already been a month, I am frustrated!! What's the maximum people have been in AP before the case being shipped to embassy? How long we may have to wait? What's causing it?? What can we do??

If you are in AP, and you are on a K1 at NVC, there is a thread in the NVC forum for you. We were there 2 months, times are coming down to a few weeks now.

Edit: To add, I was told at interview that it was random, and the FOIA request showed this as well.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

I'm sorry. You can get AP at any stage. There has been people in AP at USCIS, at NVC and at the Consulate abroad. It is called, Alien Punishment.

It is also known as legal discrimination against foreigners from certain regions. The Colombo embassy left us in AP for over a year and then made my husband inadmissible. We got approved for the I-601 and we are now in Administrative Review because they had returned our petition to USCIS without us knowing and USCIS has not made a decision on our returned I-130 although they approved the I-601.

Welcome to hell and thank our politicians for allowing it.

I was in AP on our K1 at NVC . Nothing to do our with religion, or my location. It wasn't alien punishment either. It was AP.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

The OP is asking simply about AP at NVC on a K1. Nothing to to with alien punishment.

And the OP will more than likely have AP after the interview. Don't sugar coat the experience. Tell the truth.

You don't know that. And there is no need to worry people unnecessarily. No need to scare them either.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

~~Two post removed and one quoting. There is a difference between going off on a tangent and warning the OP of further AP, stick to the question. Any further back and forth will result in thread bans.~~

Everybody goes through AP, some take longer than others.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
