From Case Complete to Interview in Mumbai

I had my cc on May 21st, waiting for interview. Is the fingerprinting done at Mumbai? Also anyone here have their medical done in Kerala?

Hi everyone!

Husband had his interview on May 18th at Mumbai and was APPROVED! We feel such relief as this was our 2nd time going through the immigration process ( it's been a long 51/2 years!).

He took so much documentation and the CO didn't ask to see anything! He said he was impressed with our paperwork saying it was in perfect order and didn't have any questions about it. He asked my husband what he brought and hubby started rattling off what he was carrying (phone logs, Skype screenshots, photos, boarding passes, etc) and asked would he like to see anything and the CO just said "No it's OK that's good" The CO just wanted the 2014 tax transcripts. Unfortunately, the questions he asked only focused on our denied K1 from 2012, and he only asked like 5 questions, so it won't help with anyone here going though the CR1 now. His interview was at 7:30 am and he was done around 9:45am with the big approval!

We watched the CEAC site and the untraveldocs site for our passport status which first showed "Administrative Processing" and then "Issued" and he received one email stating his documents were being sent for delivery. He chose the pickup option when scheduling his biometrics, so we were hoping that meant it was being mailed to his home. So, we kept checking the ustraveldocs site a few times (ok, maybe more than a few times LOL) and finally on May 20th - 2 days after interview it said "Your documents are ready for pickup". We reached the OFC documents pickup window by 3:25, 35 minutes before closing time! He showed his copy of his passport bio page, they asked him to sign it, handed him the big package with the sealed envelopes and the passport and told us to check the visa for any corrections. It was a beautiful sight! Pickup took all of 5 minutes! Hubby will POE in Newark on May 29th and we were lucky enough to get him on my return flight with seats next to me!!

I arranged everything exactly in order of the document cover sheet for each package and yes I had a cover sheet for both the AOS and IV packages explaining everything that was inside. I separated the AOS and IV packages but mailed in one envelope. For the original petition I sorted each of my 7 trips to India and labeled them with the dates in order and included boarding passes, hotel receipts and 4 photos for each trip, except for our wedding in which I sent 8 photos. And also included of course, phone logs, Skype screen shots, greeting cards sent to each other, financial info, etc. I also included a cover sheet for my original petition as well. I put everything in a flexible binder and had all the trips separated by tabbed dividers stating the dates of each trip. I made two copies of everything. One to take with me to India along with the originals, and left one at home. Looks like we're coming home with an intact copy but that's ok, better to be safe than sorry! Financially speaking, we were able to file the I-864 EZ as I met the poverty guidelines for support and there are no other dependents involved, so that was an easier process for us in that respect.

Congrats those who got approved...

Today my husband had an interview ..He didn't get declined but they gave 221g white paper..They told my hubby to dropoff the joint sponsor..I dont understand why they are not checking the current income..They checked the 2014 tax returns and saying the sponsor is not making enough so ask him to dropoff the joint sponsor paper works...Its under AP now..Even if I submit in 2 weeks ..how long its going to take ...someone please answer this..

Not yet ..Just dropped off the docs last friday..It got updated today still showing AP ..Hope they will approve it soon..This is driving us crazy. Trying to keep myself patient Hoping for the best..

Thank you Lynn n sam.. Yes finally its over..I want him to come here next week..But he need to do some shopping before he comes. So may be by end of this month...OMG..I miss my hubby so badly...

POE was a breeze! The longest time was just waiting for everyone to go through. They didn't ask any questions. Took his sealed packet and looked at the contents while hubby waited outside the room. They called him in a room, took his photo and fingerprints, had him sign a paper, stamped his passport half on the visa and half off and that was it!

Our biggest issue was with the airline personnel at checkin at Mumbai. They asked very personal questions like where did we meet, how did we meet, when did we marry, why did we marry in Delhi and not Mumbai, who paid for his ticket etc. Then they came to me and asked me the same questions, keeping us separated to see if answers matched. We were angry about this seeing as they weren't immigration/CBP or TSA officers, but airline employees. Has anyone experienced this before? By what authority do these people have to question us in this way? Other than that - everything went great!

Oh really??Which airline u took? I beeen at mumbai airport only once..I came to india in visitor's visa..I stayed therr for only 3 months..The lady who took the baggage she told me that I was allowed to stay only 6 months in India..She doesn't know what she was doing..I told here I stayed there for only 3 months ..I know sometimes they give hard time..

How to make the payment for green card..I have the copy of the Visa..Where I can find Alien # ???

My husband showed me the sealed envelope.. it looks like they cut one corner ..Is that normal?

I beeen at mumbai airport only once..I came to india in visitor's visa..I stayed therr for only 3 months..The lady who took the baggage she told me that I was allowed to stay only 6 months in India..She doesn't know what she was doing..I told here I stayed there for only 3 months ..I know sometimes they give hard time..

We took United - we prefer to fly non stop from Mumbai to Newark and then just a very short flight from Newark to Pittsburgh is only 1.5 hours or less after that. That guy was a tool!

You pay the visa fee oline on ELIS. You have to create an account and the A# is the registration # on the visa. Sometimes you have to add a zero in front. And yes, my husband's sealed packet had a cut corner too.
