So, being the experienced chaperone that I am......

I packed 12 boxes of raisins, a half of a giant costco sized box of nilla cookies, 4 chocolate milks, 3 bottles of water, and 1 16 oz thermos mug of coffee for me :)

In the school bus on the way back, the 20 five year olds decimated the supply of provisions.....

Bah

I think my friend is going to join me in selling pre own toilet seat covers. :P

It's your friend hot? I'll buy from her instead:)

(See? No brainer) :P

4 chocolate milks for 20 kids? you're a brave man. :o

my sister in law is staying home with my younger nephew as he has a fever, so she does not need us to go over after all. would've been nice to know that at, say, 7.30 in the morning when i cooked food for 8 instead of our usual 3. there are 4 phones in that household, all she needed to do was to use one of them.

Flying to Seattle on 6 May 2014!

Well, the school provides box lunches. And parents are supposed to pack light snacks. They're lucky I brought 4 milks. The lunch boxes got left at the school.....we got back at 1:30, the kids were starving.

In the school's defense, the breakfast (optional) and lunches are really, really good.

Office chat.....

So, as I was leaving today, I saw fat guy out in the hallway, talking to some dude.

He saw me and said "hey, what's up" trying to act like he wasn't hiding anything....

Immediately, I deduce that it's an applicant. Out in the hall, because he was referred by one of the fat guy's girls......

No one likes this woman, so to me, anyone that she refers, is a conspirator.

I'll have to throw a monkey wrench into his clockwork.......

Speaking of monkeys......

nola, that's a pretty decent machine for the price, especially the needle up/down, speed control and pedal-free sewing. great for people starting out and probably good for your daughter too if she were interested :)

Yeah, I like it so far. My daughter was supposed to use it tonight to do a project out of her kids' sewing book, but she misbehaved at dinner, so didn't get to. She loves crafts.

What? At her age? You better be careful she doesn't send the needle through her finger.

And how did she misbehave?

You're mean!

And, what are you gonna make me on this machine?

I'll be right next to her and make sure her fingers are far far away from the needle. IMO, it would be hard to get your finger under it, like nearly impossible.

She gets upset when she doesn't like what is served for dinner and it isn't really an appropriate response.

I'm nice enough not to set her up for a life of picky eating.

Today has just been changing pad covers and doing the edges of cloth wipes. You want a cloth wipe?

Monogrammed? :)

So fancy you got to wipe your ### with monogrammed wipes now?

I'm actually half tempted to try out the monogram function on a wipe.... But then again, getting on your own name would be weird.

so, i have a job offer in singapore, with the same employer but different department. interview was yesterday and they want an answer from me "asap". they have offered to let me take a month off two or three times a year to travel to the US on top of my existing vacation time (amongst some other things like working from home whenever necessary, flex work hours etc). obviously that's still not going to be enough to maintain the residency requirements for my green card.

i'm prepared to give up my green card if i have to and then just go the IR1 route when the time comes to move back...but i am torn between:

a. voluntarily surrendering my green card at the US embassy in singapore; and

b. traveling back and forth a couple times a year and hoping CBP still lets me in. and if they do take my green card away well then i guess i'll just have to go the IR1 route.

if CBP deems that i've abandoned my PR and refuses entry, am i barred from using esta ever again? then again with a US citizen spouse, CBP might not even let me in on the VWP...so...

i guess another option is to get a re-entry permit. i'm not 100% sure how that will work if i don't have the 10 yr green card yet? apply for ROC from abroad?

You can apply for re-entry permit.

If you give up your green card you should still be able to use esta and vwp. If anything often giving up a green card can make visiting easier.
