I dunno whatcha talkin' nout. I was first turned onto this here nasal rinse by the World Trade Center Health registry at Mt Sinai Hosp. It clears congestion beautifully. In fact, that what I was just doing. The trick is, using it over 15 minutes to allow it to dissolve the congestion.

I think I have weird sinuses or something, but that is exactly what I use and it has never once clear a stuffed nose for me. Pseudoephedrine all the way, that stuff is like manna from heaven.

Have you tried using it over a period of 15 minutes? a little at a time?

I take sudafed too, but this nasal rinse is great.

Wouldn't matter, my nose would just reproduce everything in that time. I think even when I went to the ENT to get vacuumed out, they put some sort of medication in immediately after to stop the overproduction and the swelling.

I think the pseudoephedrine, which causes vasoconstriction, combined with let's say a large dose of ibuprofen, reduces the swelling enough that the congestion ceases. A little bit of salt water doesn't even begin to touch the effectiveness level of that.

Anyways, when not pregnant, my congestion/allergies are well managed. With medications, I haven't had an infection since my wee years and managed to get off all the sinus steroid and asthma meds I was on related to it.
