That's why I'm leaving. Which brings me to my next dilemma.......

My house is worth quite a bit. To sell it, and avoid capital gains, I'd have to do an IRC 10-31 property exchange. Which basically is, I buy a similar house within a set time frame that cost more than the one I sold.

The problem is, an estate priced like that outside of NYC, say in pound ridge, where I wanna go.....the property tax would be in the 20-30k range.....

Just an FYI, if you're not comfortable doing an oil change yourself, at the very least buy your own oil and filter. It makes the oil change cheaper. It's really easy to do youself though and saves you a bundle. It really only takes 30 minutes of your day.

We don't know how to do oil change. No equipment to lift the car up too.

Yea an egr valve is a cheap part. It has to do with emissions, and it's easy to replace. Sorry 8, they saw you coming. 50 dollar valve, 100 labor.....

YouTube an oil change for your car and buy some ramps. I like them better than jacks for oil changes and engine work. Jacks are best when you're taking off a tire. Over the long run you'll save oodles. the only time I get oil changes done when the car is under warranty. I did at the apt too but there was very little room to do it. Probably could have done it at a friend's house.

I love learning about cars. I dont know parts or what they do but i can change a tire and oil. I'd like to take a mechanics course to learn how engines actually work and all the part names.
