And deep fried Oreos! Those are delicious and just melt in your mouth.

All this talk of food has gotten me thinking about the foods my fiance and I have shared when we were able to visit--one of our first meals together was at a Chinese retaurant, and then later at a sushi place, though I've truly come to love more authentic Mexican meals and I always love staying at home cooking with him. For most of us, I imagine being binational couples we're combining some likely different cultural backgrounds, and food is an important dimension of culture. What foods have you most loved trying with you fiance(e)s? What foods are you eager to try or share with them for the first time?

I am a Executive Chef for a company here in Virginia. I always want to broaden my food pallet so I can't wait to trying some authentic Filipino food and then learn how to make it. Edited by TravandLhen

I LOVE this sharing of what everyone's plans are once our significant others arrive! I'm planning to go to Morocco this summer as soon as my semeter obligations finish up and we're REALLY hoping to fly back together before I start up again in August. If so, a Justice of the Peace wedding and for sure - DISNEY!!!! I'm just hoping it's past Ramadan because I don't want to drag him through the ridiculously hot parks if he's fasting, lol! And the Disney food - oh my gosh, yes, it will HAVE to be after Ramadan! Then time to meet the new american family who are all scattered around this beautiful country!

Gosh, I really wish I could meet my guy in Dubai again and fly back here with him! If we would have been in TSC, I would have had the time to save up for my ticket, and maybe some days in UAE before coming to Dallas. But now that money needs to go to AOS fees and probably tuition. We haven't let ourselves indulge in arguing when he should come because we don't know if he will face AP after the interview and he also needs his transcripts for his classes he's in now.

It's always one step at a time without knowing what will be at step two - but I am such a contingency planner, I can't help but to think of all the possible obstacles - even if it's an AP time that will make me buy a ticket to Dubai for myself!

That's smart though because you're prepared for anything that might happen!

I have talked to my fiance about having a destination wedding, maybe mountains or beach, and just family members attending. I plan on sewing my and my daughters (flower girl (F)) dresses, so I'm occupying myself now with figuring out the design and material. :)

I fell in love with the Ukrainian cuisine, and have since cooked many things from it here at home for my children. They also love most of it.

While I was there with him, I cooked fajitas and used blini (crepes) for the wraps lol. I also cooked chicken and dumplings, roasted potatoes and pumpkin, and pancakes made from banana, peanut butter, oatmeal and egg. Was interesting making the seasoning from fresh sources as there is no "fajita" seasoning packs. He loved it all.

I'm sure we will continue to have a mixture of the two foods.

Me too!

I've already put in to take off work for a month and a half in August and September to spend it in Malaysia and Sri Lanka (we have a wedding to attend there). Hoping he could come back with me. If not, within the months after that, at the very least before November. To be honest, I don't have "plans". I just want to live with him. We'll do a city hall wedding and then plan a big wedding in the months after that and decide if we want it here or somewhere in Turkey since his whole family will be moving there in the summer. I just don't want to get my hopes up, but I want to look forward to him moving here!!! He never really was interested in coming to the US. He always just wanted to live in UAE because that's home to him (which I totally would love to move back there and call it home again) and we do plan to do that sometime in the future, but for now I convinced him to move to the US and he's looking more and more forward to it because after 15 years of "chasing" after me, he could finally have me. Haha.

Decided to call NVC tonight. Apparently they received my case and also shipped it off on Friday. It is currently in route to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I am ecstatic and so thrilled that we don't have to deal with the embassy in Cairo!
