FYI to all on this thread that haven't received the NOA1 yet - I saw a user updated their timeline who sent their petition on the 17th and received their notification today.

They didn't note if it was just text/email or the hardcopy and they were CSC. I'm going bonkers waiting for the NOA1 too. I just want to know that the process has begun! We've planned so much for this!!!!

So many variables involved, it's hard to make sense of this whole thing. I really hope the end of the week brings a huge batch of NOA2s for folks in both CSC and TSC.

Hi Todd and Camilla :)

David and I got our NOA 1 on 9th of March as well and we also have the update on the 16th of March. Therefore I do not think that it's an RFE - otherwise we both have on. Our idea was... as that USCIS in Texas forwarded the petition to the Service Center, the update might show the receipt of the petition.

As far as I know we will see an update as soon as they hold our case in their hands. When they received it in California, they might have scanned it and that's why we see an update? I have no other explanation for that.

My fiance got the hardcopy of NOA1 March 16, just like your issue when we check it to USCIS website, i dont show the status. Crossfinger to get the NOA2 so soon. Ours is CSC so I don't think there's any problem

I received my NOA1 in the mail today. Notice date says March 17. I'm not sure why I never got texts or emails, but I am so relieved. It's been routed to California!

How long before you can start to track your case online? I tried right now and it says: "At this time USCIS cannot provide you with information for your case. Please contact the NCSC 1 (800) 375-5283 for additional information."

hsgx2 - tbearz posted on this thread on the third page a thumbnail image of their email/text notification. It said you needed to wait 7-10 days for a receipt of something Form 7something-something...to be able to use the website update.

Same here we are March filers as well. Sent it out to the lockbox on March 20th, arrived at the lockbox March 24th. Just waiting on NOA1. I am from Virginia so I already know I have the dreaded TSC location. Hope for a speedy NOA2. "Fingers Crossed and lots of Prayers"

Something must be wrong with my petition. We sent ours on March 18th, but the money order still has not cleared. Are they sending it back, I wonder?

I see that I assigned the money order to US Citizenship and Immigration Services and not US Department of Homeland Security as the instructions say. I know the IRS will cash a check even if you made it out to your babysitter. Will USCIS return my package because of the name?

Phew, I can relax! We received the confirmation of receipt tonight. Now I feel comfortable that the process has begun. After all this planning, preparation, waiting and dreaming, the process is now out of our control. What a relief!
