AAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

You guys were right! I saw that Toddandcam had their petition transferred to NVC and received their NOA2 7 days before me. I just called the NVC, got through to the next level, but then FORGOT HIS BIRTHDAY!!!!!! I was on the phone for an hour (which actually isn't too bad) and I FORGOT HIS BIRTHDAY!!!! I pulled it up on my phone, and I'm sure that is the date that I put on the petition, but DANG!!!!!! We don't celebrate birthdays, but WHY COULDN'T I REMEMBER!?!?!?! I am sure going to have a bruise after kicking myself so dang much.

Anyways, at least I know it's there.

The Igor list looks like there are about 17 cases that are dated before March 20th in CSC. They are still moving, but maybe slowing down a little. They must be having lovely weather. It's been rainy in Dallas for the past two days. Hopefully that is great weather for working petitions in TSC!

Still haven't been received by NVC, but I haven't bothered calling them in a week, so it may have been received, but I'm not sure.

Because:

1) Files undergo external background checks and do not get back to the adjudicator in order.

2) Adjudicators have different working speeds/schedules/vacation days/sick days

3) The Service Centers are overloaded, understaffed and abysmally badly managed.

117 days and counting for me.

You just gave me hope!!! We got our NOA2 on the same date so I'm hoping our documents would get to the NVC at the same time too. Wish I could call, but it's already the weekend so I guess I will be waiting until Monday. Still at least I can tell myself now that it's probably there))))

As a business analyst, I have tried every way to figure out this process. I have decided to give up and enjoy talking about other things with my fiance. We are past 30 days waiting for NOA2 at CSC and I am never going to be able to figure out why someone submitting over 2 weeks after me is already approved. It is what it is. I waited 42 years to find him, it took us 2 1/2 years to get to filing and I would wait forever to get to be his wife. We are both safe in the places we are living so we will just keep going as we have been. I have gotten a very very very small taste of what the folks at TSC are going thru so I cannot imagine the over 200 day wait but if that is what it takes, then I will wait. We cannot change the process.

This is how I imagine it happens. Suppose we have three adjucators, A, B, and C, and seven cases that come in the same day. They get spread out to the adjucators like so:

A.....B.....C

1.....2......3

4.....5......6

7

Now suppose adjudicator A gets through one application in two days, adjudicator B in one day, and adjucator C in three days, and then this all happens again every day, with four more cases coming in the next day:

DAY II

A.....B.....C

1.....--......3

4.....5......6

7.....9......10

8

11

DAY III (+5 new cases)

A.....B.....C

--.....--......3

4.....--......6

7.....9......10

8....13.....14

11...16

12

15

Now suppose adjudicator B takes a two day vacation, with 3 and then 4 new cases coming in on each day:

DAY IV

A.....B.....C

--.....--......--

4.....--......6

7.....--......10

8....13.....14

11...16....19

12...18

15

17

DAY V

A.....B.....C

--.....--......--

--.....--......6

7.....--......10

8....13.....14

11...16....18

12...17....22

15...21

16

20

23

Now because adjudicitor A gets the first new application every day, his work builds up faster, so he has more back log to get through before hitting the newest cases, and every so often he has to refer back to a previous RFE, too. Adjudicator C works the slowest, but sometimes ends up with the least number of cases because his are assigned last. And adjudicator B is somewhere in the middle, but because she's more efficient than the others, she gets to take time off for her good work. After just five days, we can calculate that #21 is four days from approval, #22 is thirteen days from approval, and #23 is fifteen days from approval (not assuming any delays from RFEs)--but all of these cases had the same NOA1 date.

This probably isn't exactly how it works, it's only conjecture, but to me it makes sense for how we can see so many individual discrepencies.

I'll never understand why ppl with later noa1 get earlier approved than oneself.

But congrats :)

I know exactly why many people were approved already with NOA1 dates after mine: because they ended up at CSC, not TSC. Have some patience. Take a walk. Talk with your friends and family. Read a book. Thinking about all the time as it passes is the best way to make it feel longer.

Thank you for posting this. I understand where point #3 affects TSC, yet points #1 and #2 still affect CSC as well and although I have tried to explain ad nauseum to some folks here the reasons why they are at 44 days and no NOA2, yet another got theirs in around 20 days, they complain about lazy people working at CSC sitting on their arses.

People all over the world see Americans as entitled, arrogant and even called "Ugly Americans". Sad to see that some of the beneficiaries are already feeling like they are entitled to VIP treatment at the CSC and acting like a petulant child when their sibling gets a bigger piece of cake than they did. If I am their petitioner and saw my fiancee' acting this way on a public forum, it would be a red flag.

I'm pretty sure you would pee your pants to be at 44 days and be at the cusp of getting your NOA2.

Again, thanks for posting this. Hopefully it gives some anxious petitioners as well as their beneficiaries to get some reality for another person with common sense.

Some folks need to relax and not think about this so much and analyze it. Getting all worked up and trying to figure it out is not productive and gets you nowhere but crazy.

I just know that everyone will eventually get approved, their loved ones will be here and everyone lives happily ever after. (Hopefully....)

Anything worth having is worth waiting for. And if it was easy, it wouldn't mean is much. :)

I very much agree with you--I am perfectly relaxed. Being at TSC, I have no other option unless I want to torture myself continuously for the next eight months while straining my relationship. It's not worth it, believe me. But I'm also a mathematician, and the "analysis" I performed took me more time to write than it took me to think of. I naturally recognize patterns. Working it out on paper was actually pretty fun, like playing a game of Sudoku. =)

That said, it wouldn't surprise me if it actually happens similarly to how I suggested. It makes a lot of sense if you think about.

Well the analysis is good except it takes only 15 minutes per application.... this is assuming that the background check is completed I guess and no RFE's. There was a Q&A I read here on VJ where they got to talk to a former USCIS employee.

As for me I'm past the VJ suggested dates, but everything happens for a reason. I trust God and the path he is leading me on. It is a big move for my fiance, and he is leaving his family behind for at least 3 to 4 years. Perhaps he needs this extra time with them, should the application take longer.

Good to see that you see this extra time as a blessing as your fiance' can spend more time with family before coming here.

My fiance and I are in a similar position. He's currently pursuing a certification program that will last the next few months, and he's working to set aside money we'll need later on. His passport also recently expired (neither one of us had realized it was so close), and the passport appointmens have been booked weeks in advance, so he's still waiting to get his renewal. At least for a little while, the wait at TSC might actually be to our benefit.

Always better to be optimistic and seek out the positive in things.. It does your mind and body no good to dwell on the negative and I've found in most situations you can find something positive to focus on instead. :)
