JoeyKeano, I am going to call on Monday. Just from what I have seen there is a small batch in the middle from 3/11 to 3/19 that is not processed. I am wondering if we are in some pile together. Maybe a call may have them look at least. I know I sound like a baby when the TSC folks are still having such a long wait but it just seems a bit weird to me.

My fiancee and I have tried calling a few times. All we've got from them is that our file is "being processed", that everything is fine and we should just continue to wait.

Good to know. Well nothing more that we can do this week. Going to go enjoy the amazing weather we are having here in Portland, starting with a morning walking while FaceTime chatting with my fiance. He may not be here but still getting to spend some time together.

Have a great weekend everyone!!

I am happy for all of you getting your NOA2's. I am fortunate because my fiancé is here on a B2 visa and can stay until mid August

Since we want to stay together as long as we can before she has to go back for K-1 paperwork and interviews, I am thinking of filing an I-539 which is an extension to stay in the US. On it they ask for a written reason to extend the stay. I think we are going to make a copy of the latest processing time for I-129F and put it in the package and say "staying because of slow processing on K-1 visa application and want to stay with fiancé until approved."

Think this will work? Or piss them off? The I-539 has to go to Vermont.

K-1 Journey

2/27/2015: Sent I-129F to Black Hole in Texas:
3/13/2015 NOA1 Received by snail mail:
8/18 2015 ; NOA2 APPROVED. Perfect timing since Linh's current B1/B2 visa stay expires in 3 days and heads back to Vietnam
8/24/2015: NOA2 Shipped to Department of State (DOS) - National Visa Center (NVC)
9/1/2015: NVC Received NOA2 Package and have assigned a Case Number!
9/22/2015: Received PKT3... Finally..... Can now make appointment for Medical Examination
9/28/2015: Medical Exam - Took 3 days... Cho Ray is a mess. Vaccinations delayed until passing Interview because of shortage of vaccinations in Vietnam
10/7/2015: Interview at Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City and APPROVED!!!!
10/22/2015 K1 Visa in hand. Son's K2 visa only valid for 6 months (W-T-F-?) Thought good for 1 year. Inquire at consulate and told visa good only as long as the medical which is 6 months K2 VISAS NOT GOOD FOR 1 YEAR AS ADVERTISED ON DOS WEBSITE!
10/29/2015 POE Chicago; Easiest pass through for Linh in her 4 previous entries.
11/2/2015: Not tuned in enough to Social Security not to pick "the first day of the month" to try to get signed up. Read VJ advice, it's spot on, we had a processor who knew K1. We were in the SAVE database in 3 days so it was easy after a 2 hour wait.
11/21/2015: MARRIED IN GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK

7/19/2016 The USCIS.GOV is now working for our AOS application. Is there light at the end of the tunnel? Seems others have access to USCIS.GOV Check Case now. Glitch fixed?

a not so good update for our papers... after a few days of not checking in our status in uscis, as it was always the usual no update page... i just checked today and found out an RFE is on the way :(

Now i wonder what it will be. my fiance (petitioner) and i have not met on a dating site. He was married once but we have included the divorce decree. And we have reviewed the packet a dozen times :( Oh well... many things on my head now :( will they speed up our process once we send back their requirements? Can't wait for the mail to arrive. how long does it take??

will wake up my man later on the wrong side of the bed... challenges! Challenges!

On the other note, congrats to those who received their NOA2.

RFE is not the worst thing in the world. The good news is that someone has looked at your file. It takes a few days to get the letter inthe mail and that's the annoying part because you are in mystery what is wrong until you get it. On ours, it was for the dating site issue and I sat for 4-5 days wondering what was wrong and knew that everything else on the the application and documentation was right and OK. In yours, it interesting because you didnt meet on a dating site.

From what I have seen, the RFE will delay the process about a month - between waiging for the letter, a quick response for the petitioner and then their approval. Not a big deal in our case because we were looking at POE in late September/Early October and if things went normal it would have been late May/Early June. My fiancee's documents will arrive Monday by DHL and I can send the packet on Monday and it will be at CSC Tuesday. If all gooes well, we are still looking at a possible Mid/late June POE

Good luck with that. You are only about 30 days. Go back to the historical processing times for CSC and 30 days is super fast. It was not until just recently that they got down to 14-21 days and that's HIGHLY unusual.

Also, keep inn mind that the spring break vacation weeks have just passed. Over the past month, schools here in Orange County (CSC is in Laguna Niguel) have alternated their off weeks and kids are out of school and the CSC employees likely take a week of vacation to be with family.

Finally, calling about issues such as this tie up phone lines and others with serious issues cannot get through or have extended hold times.

Be patient.

I would think you have nothing to loose. May sure you write your fiancee will go back for medical/interview.

Worst case, you will get denied which has no impact on the K-1. By mid August you should only be 1-3 months away from your NOA-2 based on current trends so the separation wouldn't be too long.

You are very lucky your loved one can stay with you - wish we could do this, but alas, visa rules and jobs do not allow it.

Oh I know all about that and that it has only been 30 days. We had so many delays in being able to file our petition that my one last dream was to be able to have my fiancé's son at our wedding. We have him for a bit during his summer break. With the fast processing times at CSC I was still holding out hope. I sadly had to realize today it is not going to happen. Now time to just let the process happen and plan the awesome summer vacation we are going to have when they come visit me.

Good luck everyone and I post my details when they happen!!!!

It's been a bit over two weeks since since NOA2 and no transfer to NVC yet. I called them yesterday and waited on the line for an hour just for them to tell me they didn't receive it. I'm not too concerned and really not in that much of a rush since my fiance's stuck in Yemen. His Malaysia approval letter was issued this week and he can't even get out of Yemen. We're trying to locate a raft for him to peddle his way to Djibouti. :girlwerewolf2xn:

You and I seem to both been approved within the first 7 days of April. Please post to this thread or message me when you find out when you were transferred and I will do the same with you. I plan to call this Friday to inquire of my petition. If you get a case number or confirmed receipt, then I will call sooner.

Your situation is really bad! I was hoping he would be in Malaysia before all this went down. I am trying to be patient with our DOS transfer because my fiance's final exams will be sometime in the end of May or June, but since the university hasn't set dates, we aren't sure when we can or should set up our interview. We already had to spend quite a few dollars when his final exams from last semester was delayed from violent attacks in December 2014, which delayed our physical meeting plans we had in January 2015.

I will definitely update. We just don't want to get our case sent to the Egyptian consulate. I've head horror stories, even if the case is perfectly clean. And my fiance refuses to go to Egypt anyway, so it will just make it easier to transfer to Malaysia, which should be pretty easy to do once he's there. But in the mean time, we wait.

The irony is that he wasn't born or raised in Yemen. He needed to go there because Malaysia started a new rule recently that requires students to get a single entry visa from their country before entering Malaysia. Such luck.

In any case, I'll update, and I wish you luck as well!

An RFE is a good thing, it means someone picked up your file. Especially as early as 14days after NOA-1.

I would be thrilled for an RFE, but my case will likely be collecting dust for another three months.

Wait for the letter, should be there in a week and send them what they ask - come back and ask for advice if you are unsure. Upon RFE receipt, you are very likely to get your approval within a month.

Hi Jose & Jenny, thanks for the encouragement. will surely ask for an advice once my fiance received the letter.

i hope for a speedy process of your papers too.
