thespoons,

No problem spoons, I will post it here. It said in the letter that we will receive it in 90 days. By the way, on the interview about our love story they are really paying attention on the dates, when did you first meet and how. He was writing it down as we tell him the story. You are next hehe.

Lol, thanks for the tip. I've been quizzing my husband about dates this morning. Seems i was right to quiz and remind him. Lol he has the worst memory ever. Hahahaha!

Hello everybody,

Finally, the long wait is over. Our AOS got approved today. I just want to share our experience in the

interview. So the CO first asked of our passports. He asked for both our Original Birth certs,

my original naturalization cert. He looked for our marriage cert and he said he needed an original and a

copy of it (good thing we made copies of our orignals too). So basically he tooked our orignal birth certs

and original marriage cert. He made a copy of our passports. Then he asked if we have some joint accounts.

I gave him all that we have our names included. First is the latest bank account statement (online printout),

my covered california with hers added to my health insurance (copy sent by coveredca), my life insurance and

brokerage accounts stating her as the beneficiary (copies from the companies). The CO was happy about me

submitting all that I got, he said I came prepared. He didn't look at our pictures at all. He asked if

we got the medical already and he was browsing his documents and found it. (it looks like the DS-3025).

Good thing he didnt ask for any I-693 wheewwww. After that he had either one of us tell him our love

story so I voluntered but in the end my wife is the one ended talking. Lols you know women right?

after that he said that we will check if you will be approved or not so he told us to wait outside and

after 10 mins he came out the door with 2 pcs of paper and said congratulations, you are approved.

Yepeeeeee

Thank you again for everybody.

Congrats :joy: wow so happy for the both of you!!!

I am really wondering if the AOS petitions sent this year are being processed faster. It seems like that to new cases that I'm seeing, but unfortunately, VJ members mostly drop off from filing in their timelines and I can't find enough cases to rely on my suspicion. I hope so, but we will see. We plan to mail the AOS next week, so if we get the I-551C next year, I will be happy. Only Dallas does not have a reputation for speed...

We shall see...

Congrats to all of the new NOA2 recipients. :)

AllenGrace congrats on your AOS approval.

Daisy had received notice on Dec 30 for her AOS interview on Dec 2. I was in Korea and immediately booked flights to be home for the interview as required. On Nov 18 we received notice of the cancelled interview. I spent a couple hours on the phone from Korea with the USCIS to find out why explaining about the tickets and flight, etc. OH well, time home with my baby was good enough for me but of course it put Daisy in a bad mood thinking we were going to miss our first Christmas together. On Monday, I got notice that their AP's were approved, so now it's just waiting for those to come in so we can get their visas to Korea arranged.

Yesterday afternoon we received an email from the IO in Manchester NH explaining that the interview is being cancelled because he should be able to adjudicate the case without the interview. Called him this morning and after some talking about why he is cancelling the interview, I explained that I am a DOD Contractor working in Korea and flew home for the interview and we were hoping to get everything done so we can spend Christmas together. He apologized for the unneeded expense. Then just a few hours later, we received an email from the automated system that the I485's were both approved and the green cards were ordered and will receive them in the mail.

This must be some kind of record. LOL

I have updated our timeline and will put in the dates that we receive the EAD/AP card and the green card.

To everyone frustrated with the process, it will happen, be patient and stay the course, you and your loved one(s) will be together soon.

Wow! That's awesome!

There was another case that I saw that they received their I-551's within months of filing AOS; however, the USC was US military, so I figured that was part of the reason why they were approved so fast. However, my spidey senses are still tingling that maybe AOS' are being processed a little differently this year (or just more recently). It seems that people that were getting NPIW were intended to get their GC's faster, but some on that thread were still waiting a year from when they received that letter!!!!

I have been following October 2015 AOS filers, and they seem to be moving along at a nice clip, but maybe I should read some more threads from months past that. Whatever the case may be, it gives me a little more hope that maybe we can get the conditional GC in less than a year. (Hoping to bring mom here in some years. :) )
