Hello folks,

Does anyone have any idea what's going on now at the TSC? I am resigned at this point to the reality that they process applications slowly, but Igor's List shows no TSC approvals for VisaJourney members since last Wednesday...! Did they just get an extra- extra-long Labor Day vacation? Does anyone have any additional knowledge or insight?

Also, does anybody have any experience with how long it takes to get an update after an application is assigned to an officer? My senator's office received a response from TSC two weeks ago stating that my application had been assigned to an officer for review. I assume that each officer receives a pile of applications to review at a time, but I don't know if any of you have any ballpark idea of how long it might take to get an answer at this point.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated! Best wishes to all.

Files are consolidated and given a reference number (which I assume is a number assigned to a larger banker box of petitions). I cannot be certain, but the boxes are most likely assigned to officers, who pull a box once they've completed another box. When the senator is told that your petition has been assigned, more likely than night, it has been, but that means little in terms of timing, it just means that Officer Bob will be reviewing files in box number 123. When Bob gets to it depends on what order it has been put into his work queue and how he is progressing. There is nothing logical to any of this. My SRC is the only one within 50 numbers to the right or left of mine to be approved. What that means is either mine was pulled out of a sequence (which after more than two dozen emalis to my senator's office and speaking to three tier 2 officers in one day I may have gotten attention), or the logic that SRCs are reviewed in order is false.

I'm resigned to the reality that the USCIS uses human lives and plays lottery with them. You and are numbers in a big lotto machine, and when our ping pong ball pops up we are liberated. Continued strength in your journey. My advice as I've given to others is that the "squeaky wheel always gets the oil." Don't be afraid to be vocal and call the USCIS and inquire as many times as you think it might take and never fear they will throw your application to the back just because you are seeking answers. When it comes to the life of my fiancee there is no battle that I would not fight to get her here, and at least for now, I managed to get my file out of Texas and onto the next step.

Continued strength.

M

Nice and sad at the same time to hear someone else is in the same situation.

I already filled out the timeline and checked and the estimate was for September that's why I called today, never called uscis before. No red flags that I can think of in our case since we've been together 4 years, visited a billion times both ways and we're both 25 year old college students, provided plenty of evidence when we filed too. But who knows, I'm guessing they've never touched it, which is what shows on the website.

Good luck hampguy, hope we both get good news in the coming weeks! :)

And Greenbaum, thanks for the timeline following tip, didn't know I could do that n

The USCIS website has been updated.

I see what you mean! There may have been some approvals on September 14th, but some of those look like they are actually CSC filers only thinking they are TSC because they mailed them to the central TX lock box.

I really, really hope this isn't a trend!! The TSC is so close to finishing their K-1 case load. I really hope they don't slow down now! I was hoping to see one big push to get them out the door, but it doesn't seem like it based on this past week's results. TSC should really be finished with all those cases by the end of September - this wait was ridiculous a long, long time ago...

I'm sorry, Ena. I know this waiting can affect our hearts and minds.

Signature coming soon...
