Congrats Sabrina&Chuck and Amhara!

We just bought our tickets last week. POE will be November 2 in Chicago.

I have a question for all of you that have already moved to the US - How did you move all of your belongings?

We're having troubles finding an affordable overseas moving company.

Thanks!

Ship it by freight container. Takes longer but much much cheaper. They will drop the container door to door and it goes by rail and sea.

Hi everyone,

Me and my fiance filed around the 10th of March and we're getting worried because we haven't gotten any kind of update on NoA2. It's TSC.

I called USCIS today and despite the case status showing on the website, it can't find any results on the phone. They told me in general that they're processing cases that were filed in december right now and that it could take another 3 months, so that we're in the normal time frame.

Is this really normal? I see others that filed in March got their NOA2... Also, should I be worried about it not finding any info about the case on the phone or is that normal?

The best place to be to get answers to your questions is in the sub-forum for your country. To find the sub-forum for your country go to the top of this page, select "Forums", then scroll down the page to "General Discussion Area", then within that area scroll a little ways down to "Regional Discussions". Once in your regional discussion forum go ahead and post your question and those who are knowledgeable for many of your questions "why this", "can you explain this", "where is this" or "why is it taking so long" can be answered.

Just a recommendation to relieve your stress and to enlighten you on what is available in the way of help.

First there is no "normal". There are different timeframes for different processing locations. Some are faster and some are slower. Your case may have something within it that has raised a red flag and so they maybe taking additional time to vet your case. Or, it's in a pile waiting to be "touched". I'll tell what I know and that is "no one can tell you" when your case will be adjudicated.

This is a game of patience and I am sure you don't want to hear that. Two years ago we processed our K-1/K-2 and it took 95 days between NOA1 and NOA2. Some processing centers are moving a little faster then others.

Calling everyday is not going to move your file. But there are a lot of tools that you can use to answer your own question. First, check the timelines of others here that filed around your time. Next get the phone app that checks for updated status. If it doesn't ring back then nothing has been completed. Keeps you off the phone for others who have a more pressing case. Fair enough? Next thing you should do is register on the myUCIS website for updates. See the links below in my signature for these items.

In the meantime, look below your picture in the left column and select "timeline" and once on the next page again near your picture there is you will see "follow similar timelines" so choice it and it will populate 12 other couples who are near your dates. Scroll down and you will see a "spreadsheet" style page showing all the variables for measurement. You'll see how long it is taking others. It's not perfect but it's the closes you'll come to what is the possibility for your processing timeline.

I followed those that were in my group to give me an idea where they were in processing so I could judge if I was ahead or behind.

We are March 9 and have not hear a peep. After TSC's reply to my Senator (Warren) it was said petition is on a desk waiting to be adjudicated. We are doing the best we can, Hang in there.... our petitions are a day apart. Stay in touch, ok?

In our letters of intent, we both said we had never been engaged or married previously to demonstrate that we were both free to marry. Maybe you need to send in a written statement that you have never been married and sign it. It sounds like they want to make sure you are free to marry too. Indicate that your letter is in response to the RFE and include your USCIS case number too.

Hope that helps!

Nice and sad at the same time to hear someone else is in the same situation.

I already filled out the timeline and checked and the estimate was for September that's why I called today, never called uscis before. No red flags that I can think of in our case since we've been together 4 years, visited a billion times both ways and we're both 25 year old college students, provided plenty of evidence when we filed too. But who knows, I'm guessing they've never touched it, which is what shows on the website.

Good luck hampguy, hope we both get good news in the coming weeks! :)

And Greenbaum, thanks for the timeline following tip, didn't know I could do that n.n
