Finally I'm almost on the last part. I will have my medical on Sept 1-2 then interview on Sept 21. Hopefully by October will be my month to see my dearest ♥♥♥

Congratulations!! Also, thanks for posting the medical / interview dates. Did you schedule them online? Were there many dates available? My partner lirves in Cebu and we are hoping for our NOA2 this week. Our hope is that it will get to NVC quickly so we can get the MNL # and he can make appointments online. I was hoping he could get medical/interview back to back so he wont have to fly to and fro twice. I am not sure they do that.

I look forward to following your progress. Again, congratulations!

Best,

timothy&john rex

hi. you can follow this steps when you get approve:

after your approval wait for 10 business days and you can start calling NVC for your case number...

nvc contact number:

(603) 334-0700

you can call them Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. EST to 12:00 midnight EST.

if you got the case number which started MNL followed by 10 digit numbers..

click immigrant and enter the case number..you can check it at:

ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx

after checking your status..make sure the status of your visa are:

AT NVC - meaning ur papers still sitting at their office

IN TRANSIT - meaning ur papers are on the way to USEM Phils

READY - ur papers already received by the USEM Phils

then you can start paying ur visa fee at Bank of Philippine Islands..bring your mrv together with your passport and money...

mrv slip:

http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph/pmisdepositslip.htm?amount=265&country=philippines

for you to be able to have it one bond paper...

right click and select ALL..right click and select COPY..

go to msWord...and right click PASTE..select ALL and adjust the font size..

wait for 4-6hrs to validate your receipt...sometimes it takes longer...just be patience...

schedule your interview over here:

https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/

if you are done scheduling your interview you can set your medical at:

http://www.slec.ph/

they increased the fee starting oct 1..

US$ 245.00 for adults

14 years of age or younger remain US$ 185.00.

but same instruction you have to pay them in Philippine peso...

after your medical..you can accomplish the ds160 here..

https://ceac.state.gov/GenNIV/Default.aspx

if you wish to attend your CFO seminar while waiting your interview

set your appointment at:

http://gcp-appointment.cfo.gov.ph/

remember that no more walk in allowed at CFO...

First, congrats to all recent approvals, arrivals and marriages. :)

Update on Daisy and I.

We arrived home safe on the 28th of July after some fits with United Airlines on the milk-run through Guam and Hololulu and Houston.

Daisy got her SSN with no problems later that week.

My parents came to Omaha and we were married on Aug 15. YAY!!!

I spent this past weekend putting together the I485, I131 and I765 packets for Daisy and Jessica.

I just got news that I will probably be relocating to Korea in September working for the Army on a 5 year contract. Daisy and Jessica will be at my parents in New Hampshire until the EAD's and AP's come through. We used the New Hampshire address instead of Omaha so there is no location issues for Biometrics. We will be separated for 4-8 weeks and that will suck, but we are both very happy with the opportunity this job is giving me in my career. :)

There is a great tool to follow your case and get up to date information as provided by UCIS. I outline the steps here for myUCIS. While your there look around, the entire Philippine/USA Embassy steps are outlined with how to avoid those nasty "gotchas".

About 2 weeks after you arrive you can head on down to your SS office. Bring the required documents and you can get your SSN. They will run a check to see if you are in the SAVE-ASVI system and if it has been updated they can proceed, if not then you will have to come back. Don't wait to long as you must apply before you have 14 days remaining on your I-94. More details can be found here. Apply before you marry so you can use it to establish banking and other items that will require an SSN. Once you are married and have received your EAD you return back to SS to renew your SSN with your married name. These are the simple steps but there is more background at my website.

I understand that the officials state two weeks, but I know in many cases SAVE is update in just a few days. Daisy applied 3 days after landing (We arrived on Tuesday and went to the SSN office on Friday) and had no problems at all. :)

They must be getting better at the updates. Any whooooo if you can't wait to be sure that your in SAVE, then venture down about 3 days and for others that want to be sure, wait the two weeks.

Good information and thanks for sharing.

Does anyone know how long we have after getting Married to filer for AOS? Is there a time frame, like after we get married we have to filer within this many days? $985 fee is slowing me down a little, i need a few more pay checks to get that so I wanted to make sure we are not going to miss any deadline for her to apply for the AOS.

No deadline. As long as you marry within the 90 days from entry date, you are good. Since she is married to a USC, she is eligible to become resident, so she is technically safe from deportation. Her over stay time begins to accrue, but when you do file the AOS, all that time is forgiven. As long as she doesn't work or leave the country, she is good. But I think it's about $85 more than your comment suggests.
