Update on my situation:

Police certificate is on it's way back from Canada and should arrive by Monday. Commissionaires Ottawa is a fantastic company. They sent through instructions. The day they received our package they promptly digitized his fingerprints and sent that to the RCMP. Five days later they mailed the certificate express fedex back to us. They even charged less than the original quote.

Now just have to travel back to Kiev and give it to the embassy.

Congrats to all of the approvals!!! We have been enjoying an amazing time together and I am so happy to get to spend so much time with my fiancé's son. Next week is our medical so things should start moving then.

Hello All,

It's great to see approvals, medicals and interviews underway! I'm looking forward to when TSC catches up to our filing month too! It can't be too much farther away. I hope August goes by quick for us all because I'm optimistic that we will get a healthy number of TSC NOA2's.

My fiance called me so early this morning because we had an update on our case. The embassy is closed on Friday and Saturday, but the Friday of our interview we had an update, so maybe that's not so unusual. I figured that since the embassy was closed for nearly four days for the holiday, perhaps someone was on a maxi-flex schedule. That's where if you take a day off, but rather than take your leave, you work a few hours extra and maybe working on a Friday, they were able to make up on that extra vacation time.

But the thing my guy was so excited about was that my future brother-in-law said he thinks he's going to get the visa because the AP message body changed ever so slightly. His brother and his immediate family have been waiting for a visa since 2013 - different kind, obviously. However, they were just issued their visas last month. Bro said that if the AP message changes from "processed and mailed/available" to "...processed and mailed or available" the update means they are getting read to issue the visa. I tend to agree with this theory because not only did my brother-in-law's case have it that way, but he had examples of other cases too. So we will see, maybe in the next two weeks?

I'm expecting for our case status to switch to "Ready", then "AP" with the title changed to 'Nonimmigrant' then "Issued", or at least something like that. Just so much going on, this would be a bright light in our lives. I'm going to be studying so hard for the next week for my last CPA exam coming up on the 1st. My future father-in-law's health has taken a negative turn. He's in a coma-like state for the past two days. The AP has been helpful to us since we don't need to stress over when we should buy his tickets and when he should arrive. He can just focus on family now, but we feel confident we will get the visa soon - or at least get updates soon. It's comforting to think that maybe we won't need to go through a third country visa process again and that when we spend money with a comma in it, it will be for one way destination Dallas! Hopefully, anyways. Just getting an update is good news! Maybe our goal date of September or October will come after all???

Signature coming soon...

On a whim, I just checked on this and it looks like TSC files with January NOA1's have been getting NOA2's for the past couple weeks. So it seems to be about 6 months from NOA1 to NOA2. Unless TSC gathers some momentum, March TSC filers should start seeing their NOA2's late August/Early September

Ummm, my fiancé got approved July 22 and I got too excited I asked him to buy his ticket! He is flying mid August. I hope he gets his visa before then. :-)

I already printed forms for SS card, ordered DL 44 from DMV, and got info on Marriage License. .... really excited!

UPDATE:

Melanie's visa application is now in Administrative processing. So, on the 3rd business day after it is now in AP with this message on the CEAC website:

"Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved after administrative processing, your passport will be delivered by our contracted courier to the address you specified when you booked your interview."

This is normal - so far. All applications go through AP prior to issuance. Note the "undergoing necessary administrative processing" statement. So no need to panic. However, the "This processing can take several weeks" statement is a little scary (especially after having a 6-week delay for an RFE) and the reason one should not book airline tickets until visa is in hand.

It seems AP times until issuance vary. The Manila embassy seems to be at about 2-3 business days from observing other cases here in this post.
