My fiance got approved!!! Thank God! Thank you all for helping me! You made things easier for me! Am crying now. I wont be alone anymore.... :-)

Good news....

Melanie had her interview today and was approved. I got her text message at about 10pm here in California. She texted me a sad face and then a "denied" message. She waited a few minutes and then texted me a "HAHAHAHAHA I'M JOKING" message with about 50 thumbs up. Nice to have a feisty fiancee' with as warped sense of humor as mine.

She said the CO was really nice and asked only a few questions...

CO: "What attracted your fiance' to you"

Melanie: "He says it was my chicken legs" (She's 5'5" tall and 95 pounds)

She says the CO thought it was funny and laughed.

CO: "What are his hobbies"

Melanie: "He likes to watch TV and watch Laker games and car racing"

The CO asked only a few other questions and told her she was approved. Now she will do the CFO seminar Friday as we wait for visa issuance and delivery of the visa to the 2GO at MOA.

On a side note, I got the NVC letter in the mail on Saturday the 18th. Postmarked the 15th and dated the 1st of July. Thanks NVC for the timely service. "Ya think that would have been handy a couple of weeks ago when she was at her medical??

Congrats to both of you! :)

Thats so funny. My fiancee's interview is Wednesday. She is asking me this morning how much stuff to bring. I told her to bring ALL of the stuff I sent her. She replied that someone told her that they only want to see what they asked for.

My reply to her was, A) Better to have more documents than not enough, B) If they ask for something, you have it in that 4 pounds of documents, and, C) There's something intimidating about 4 pounds of documents stacked 4 inches high that probably tells them you have your act together and anything they may want to throw at you is probably in those 4 file folders she has. :)

It's Wednesday, how did her interview go? I hope it went great!

For the people who've already gotten your NOA2 would you recommend getting the medical exam before you actually get the NOA2 or is it too much of a gamble to get it early? I want to be proactive and make the process as easy as possible for the hopefully near future.

You do not want to do your medical too early. The Fiance Visa's validity ( 6 months) will be based from when you did your medical and not from your interview date. Like for example, You did your medical on January 1, 2015. Your fiancé will need to fly 6 months from that date, which is July 1, 2015.

I read about this from a forum but couldn't find it anymore. For those who are well informed about this, please correct me if I am wrong.

Hi guys,

We're in a pickle and I would love some helpful advise. My fiance's mailboxes in Malaysia was having an issue that he noticed at the beginning of the month. Apparently the numbers were messed up or something. So that sent me into freakout mode, so I emailed the embassy on the 8th of July asking if they've sent the appointment letter. They replied July 10th stating they've received our packet and will be sending the letter soon. We waited. And waited. And waited. But nothing. Finally yesterday I emailed them again and they replied today (July 23rd) stating that the appointment packet was sent out July 9th and our interview is scheduled for July 28th! That's Tuesday! We haven't even done the medical yet.

We found a a list of hospitals for the medical on the consulate page of Visajourney, but we're thinking it might be outdated. He said he'll go first thing in the morning to try and get a medical done, but I fear it might be too late and short notice. I've emailed the embassy letting them know we never received the letter, but other than that, I'm not sure what to do.

We found a a list of hospitals for the medical on the consulate page of Visa Journey, but we're thinking it might be outdated. He said he'll go first thing in the morning to try and get a medical done, but I fear it might be too late and short notice. I've emailed the embassy letting them know we never received the letter, but other than that, I'm not sure what to do.

That sounds chaotic! But don't worry, he can probably get into the clinic. Make sure you explain you need an appointment on short notice because of the unexpected delay, apologize and thank them so much! The clinic will give your fiance some information and documents that prove he's had his medical exam. Then, even if the embassy doesn't get it, they will know they will be receiving it. You will just be put in AP until they get it and process it.

My fiance had his medical a week before the interview and they didn't get it by his interview date, but they did get it a few days after that. I saw updates on ceac.gov when they got it and confirmed with the clinic that the results were sent and received by the embassy that week.

Don't worry. You are good. May your AP be short and sweetened with a visa at the end!!!
