HAHAHAHA I'm not even looking at business class. I would love it but the prices are 5-8K for one way from manila to omaha. LOL

I wasn't looking at Business Class.... I'm saying the plane filled all except Business Class and I can't afford that. lol That's why I gambled on the 27th, so I could at least get us on the last cheap flight back before the August rates. I feared that flight may fill up too.

Awesome! Yeah the one way tickets I went ahead and got are $739 each and it's a direct flight. Last I had checked was $576 on the 24th, then it filled. Just checked again, and my flight on the 27th is already filled.. I'm glad I went ahead and gambled on it. They are now up to $1000 each.

Looks like I will lose a little over $500 if I have to cancel and re-book on a different carrier with layover. So I'm gambling on $500 to secure the flight we want.

I have a feeling I will be booking at last minute. I've been watching what last minute fares are and not too bad. I'm lucky she can arrive at LAX and no additional flight from there

PAL is at $816 and some a few bucks less, but connect in Taiwan, Japan or China. PAL is direct MNL to LAX

I was looking at the PAL flights direct to LAX but the cost will screw me on my flight. I'm still investigating the right combination. I have 148000 United miles so I will probably try to swing a free ticket for one of the girls.

I used Delta Skymiles for my trip to Kiev and was $30. It's funny the cash price was outrageous, but skymile cash equivalents were normal. Like they were asking $2,500 cash one way, or the equivalent of $620 in skymiles for the same trip. Just longer layovers on the skymiles trip.

It is strange how they work things huh? LOL

I just found great fares on my RT and two one ways from Manila... Total of $3200 for all 3 tickets with the MNL-OMA flight on the 27th at night. Just $300 more than using a combination of cash and miles for the tickets. So I put them on a 3 day fare lock. Daisy is going to talk to her dress maker to see if they can make that schedule.

Melanie has medical Tuesday and Wednesday. She's on her way from Sinacaban to Manila right now. She will also be recieving nearly 4 pounds of documents by FedEx (about $150 to send!) for her interview. Mostly documents that include I-134 stuff and proof of relationship. When you are self employed, you need more proof than just a pay stub and two years tax returns. I had to submit bank statements for 2015 and all of 2014, tax returns for 2014, 2013 and profit loss statements. Gets heavy. Then add in about 30-40 pages of chat logs showing a three year relationship and you get four pounds of paper.

Mel has medical issues that are non-contagious. She has a cyst on her thyroid that will need attention soon after she gets on my medical plan. I am hoping that this is not an issue as my understanding is that their buggest concern is TB, STD's, Hepatitis and any other serious diseases that would create a major health concern to the remainder of the US population.

She is OK with the embassy interview. We talked about it and I told her just to be confident and answer the questions honestly, candidly and not just "yes" and "no" answers. If she answers questions with a little conversation about our relationship, they will have much less doubt. Less nervous = less suspicion.

I actually am more nervous about the medical than the embassy interview. :o:unsure:

Class A diseases are the main concern.

My fiancé said that as long as you follow SLEC.ph document requirement, everything will run smoothly. It is pretty organized, he said. It is just the waiting time that takes tooooo long. For the release of his SLEC documents, His appointment was 730 am and he got his papers at 330pm.

Daisy's and Jessica's visas went into Administrative Processing today. Looks like they are at the printing stage now. :)

Tell me if I have this straight....

Unless you fly PAL, there is a connection (at least one) between MNL and LAX. Go through customs and immigration. Then LAX to another connection and on to Omaha?

Now that's not a trip, that's a journey!!

Nope, not gonna do that, the flights are more expensive overall and the layovers in LAX suck. I will be flying with her, she won't be on her own. And immigration in Guam speaks Tagalog so it will be easy there for her. Going through LAX is actually a pain in the butt and doesn't save any time.

We will most likely be flying United MNL - Guam - Honolulu - Houston - Omaha it's the best, easiest, least expensive route and I should be able to easily upgrade us to business class. :D
