Thank you all for the support :)

I just got off the phone with Daisy... This must be some kind of record. In and out in 3 hours.... She PASSED!!!!! :)

She was told that right now they aren't giving estimates on passport delivery, just wait for the SMS. I'll keep an eye on ceac for issued status. :D

Daisy said the American consul was a very nice lady and only asked her one question and that was about the number of my previous marriages and asked if she had pics of the 3 of us (Daisy, her daughter and me) together. Daisy said she cried when she was told she was approved.

Congrats Tony!!! So happy for your family!!!

I am on hold with NVC right now...our case has arrived so I am waiting to get the numbers!!

Congrats. From what I have seen of the Manila embassy, they are fairly easy to work with and not too harsh.

I was reading your posts yesterday and thinking "poor girl is getting all worked up over nothing!"

I have a question for those in the Philippines that have scheduled medical appointments at St. Lukes and visa interviews at the Manila embassy...

Melanie is paying her visa fee at BPI tomorrow. With the payment made, we will be able to schedule her medical and her embassy interview. She is from Sinacaban, about 20 minutes north of Ozamiz City in Mindanao. Its a 1 hour 20 minute flight to Manila.

Question is, it would be so much more convenient to schedule the medical and then the visa interview at the embassy back to back. On other words, medical on Monday/Tuesday and then embassy interview on Wednesday or Thursday. If it possible, it save a lot of time as well as hotel and airfare expenses. In addition, it just gets the whole process done faster. :)

Anyone have experience with this? Is it possible?

Thanks :) Ya, I knew she was also, but there is no consoling someone that has themselves worked up. I could only support her and try to reassure her.

It should be possible based on other reports I have seen. I know Daisy had the medical reports with her when she went for her interview. I don't know if there is anything transmitted from SLEC to the Embassy anymore, but if there is then the visa issuance will be delayed pending the receipt of this report. If they give everything to Melanie, then she should be good to go. I would plan for 3 days for medical just to be safe. :)

Thank you everyone. Now we are just waiting for the visa to be issued for her to go to the CFO seminar and for us to book flights. She is using this time now with her Mom in Manila to go shopping for a wedding dress. :D

Daisy did tell me that there was one girl there almost in tears. This was her third run at the Embassy for a K1 with the same fiance`. No RFE's, nothing just flat out denied. She also said there were others that were asked harsh questions like "What is your fiance`s shoe size?"... I thought REALLY?!?! Maybe for a couple that has actually lived together but not for an LDR. LOL

There's got to be a back story to those that we don't know about.

Shoe size? Seriously?? There was probably some other anomaly in the paperwork thatthey didn't feel good about and use shoe size as an excuse. Hard to think they would deny because of that. Would be an excellent reason for an appeal.

Haha. Women.... :D

Melanie is pretty mellow. She's the type that knows the relationship is genuine and her attitude would be "I got this!" and not swaet a bit.

From what I have read elsewhere, the Manila embassy does give the beneficiary the medical packet and CD and the packet is marked "DO NOT OPEN" and is sealed. From what you are saying, this was the case with Daisy? This packet and CD are given after Day 2 (assuming she passes and it's 2 days) is complete??

One last question, in the checklist for SLEC, they ask for the letter from NVC showing the case (MNL) number. Our packet just arrived at the embassy on Friday 6/26 and I dont have the letter yet. I plan to Fedex a packet of all the documents Melanie needs for her interview (I-134 stuff, etc.) but may not have the NVC letter by then. Is there something that I can email to Melanie that could be used in place of this letter for SLEC?

Ya, Daisy works on a hope and pray for the best but expect the worst from others. Kinda cynical, but it seems to work for her. LOL

You have multiple options with the letter to take to medical. The DS-160 confirmation page works as well after you put in the application for her visa. Daisy had both.

Yes, she had two packets from SLEC, one for her and one for Jessica.

I'm a little down bc we decided to wait for a year for a big ceremony. It's so expensive, lol,

A year! Oh, I am sorry to hear that. Try looking for little cuts you can make and the money that you save on one thing might be more useful else where in the ceremony!

Signature coming soon...

I didn't realize how bad I wanted a big wedding until I started planning then it became too overwhelming. The year gives us time to pay on the venue and complete that vision. We are marrying on 09/05/15 then on 9/03/16 next year will be a year anniversary and renewal of vows. I'm looking forward to it.
