Congratulations to all who passed their interviews, those who are on the brink of marrying and of course, the rest of the patient folks out there!

After a major delay in the post office I have finally received my passport and was able to book an interview.

Unfortunately, due to some business travels I will have to book it in the end of July. On the bright side, it will align with Monica coming to Paris, so we are making a vacation out of it.

A strange thing that happened though, we received not one, not two, but EIGHT letters from NVC with the case number. I verified and all the letters have the exact same message and the only difference is the day. They are all sent within a day or two of each other.

I think they should send some of the people from NVC to work in the Texas USCIS center, as they clearly have too much free time ;)

It would be nice if California took the rest of the filers in March!

I know it! What kind of 'rebalancing' was that?? All the people that are waiting longer don't get any consideration? If the TSC is still working on November cases, then they are over five months behind! They can't transfer the January and February cases to CSC and make the April, May and June filers wait for a month or two? But why start transferring all the K-1 petitions at the end of March? Why not just all of them? Why not the older ones? Just doesn't make sense!!!

I've not received any letters from NVC.

I received one shortly after the petition had arrived in Kabul. I thought mine was a little slow, but I guess mine made good time compared to yours!!

I also posted this in the UK forum so sorry if you are part of both...I wanted to share with both sets of friends.

Well, Tim and Michael are on their way to Portland for a 5 week visit. Tim learned something new today during his non-immigrant travel interview at the Dublin Airport. We always assumed that they interviewed him every time because of the B2 visa and that they knew he was coming here to visit his fiance. Nope, not true. The officer doing the interview told him that he is flagged due to the refusal for the 6 hour overstay. He also informed him that he would be interviewed every time that he travels to the US even when he has a green card. No matter how many times that he travels successfully in the future. He mentioned that it would be highly unlikely that he would get refused but for him to always allow plenty of time to get interviewed. He said that once he has citizenship the interviewing will stop but until then be prepared. Just thought I would share if anyone out there has the same situation.

What is a 6 hour overstay? So a visitor has to leave by a certain day and hour? Wait, what is a refusal of a 6 hour overstay?

Tim traveled to the US on an ESTA visa (Visa Waiver Program). The ESTA visa gives you 90 days to stay here in the US. Tim's flight was delayed leaving resulting a in stay in the US of 90 days + 6 hours. This results in what is called a visa overstay. He did not realize it at the time so the next time he tried to come back to the US he was refused entry at immigration and he can no longer use the VWP.

Since he could not longer use the VWP, he went to the US Embassy in Dublin to get a B2 visa. They gave him a 10 year visa. But the thing is he gets interviewed every time he comes thru immigration. Today we found out why.

Hope this helps explain. We also believe this is why it took longer to get our NOA2. They had to get additional information about his refused entry.

It sounds to me like a few people like their jobs just a little too much...

Lhen just got done with her interview. Everything went extremely well from what she said. Interview only lasted about 5 minutes. At the end, the lady was like "I don't see anything wrong here Approved". She told her to come back on July 2nd to get her Visa. She also said not to buy any plane ticket till yet, until she has her visa in hand because of all the technical problems going on. Thank you everyone for all your help. This journey was definitely made easier by this site and all of you. Good luck to everyone else as you get closer to being with your loved ones. This is just the beginning of course but iat least we can do things together side by side from here on out. Have lots of faith, GOD is good!
