Congrats to all those who made it thru their medicals! Tony, so happy your daughter was well enough and y'all are ready for the interview. I am excited as Tim and Michael will be here Tuesday for their visit and we can check with NVC then to see if we have moved to the next step.

I'm just a little frustrated this morning. I FINALLY got my transcripts on Monday, and paid over $50 to ship them to my fiance. I figured it would leave the US when it reached NYC, like the first package I sent him two weeks ago did. However, it has stayed on vacation in NYC for the past two days. Refund time...and try not to cuss...

Thanks, it was a big concern of mine, but we are goo to go now. :)

Glad to hear yours are visiting soon, it will be nice to be together. We are already planning (without dates) timelines for me to fly to Manila and fly back to the US, wedding planning, etc. Wedding planning is tough without dates this time of year, everything is already booked. HAHA

Just a small update for Judy and I. NVC sent my case to USEM on May 22. The CEAC web site showed my case was ready on June 8. Judy and I are trying to get the interview scheduled this coming week. We have been both very busy with our schedules lately. I've been out of town on a business trip and Judy has been busy with some Zumba events. I should have the interview scheduled soon and will be able to provide some more updates. Congratulations to all those who have passed your interviews and to those who are getting ready for the interview Good Luck.

Did you all see this from the Manila USEM? (http://manila.usembassy.gov/immigrant-visa-announcements.html)

"Individuals with visa interview appointments scheduled for June 14-20, 2015, should reschedule their appointments if they submitted a DS-160 online application after June 9, 2015."

I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Daisy and I have been going over the packet she is taking to the embassy. I sent her my last 3 pay stubs by dropbox over the weekend for her to print so she has the latest ones of those.I expect the interview on the 29th to go smoothly and hope the DoS has the printing system issue cleared up by then. Tonight we will be doing a mock interview (her idea) to make sure she knows what paperwork is what by name and not by explanation.

Anyone have any tips or potential gotchas we should discuss?

One question I have read on another thread that was asked at the Islamabad embassy of a K-1 filer that I thought was good was "Why do you want to marry an American?" They may have different questions in Manila, but thinking of 'tough' questions may help Daisy feel more prepared and confident if/when they ask her 'easy' questions!

Hey everyone! Congratulations to everyone making progress on the journey to be together with your significant others and those of you still waiting patiently, hang in there! Your turn will come!

We got our marriage license today! It all happened so fast. I searched the internet to find out what we needed to do to apply here in Palm Beach County and it said go to the courthouse in Delray to pick up the application then return it to city hall in Boca Raton where we live. Ok, but when we got to the courthouse they did it all right there! It's a good thing that we had brought our passports with us! And, funny story, the clerk went to go swear us in that we attested that the information we gave on the form was correct but she couldn't do it in French for Issam and he speaks VERY little English right now. So I asked him, "How's your Spanish?" And because he could understand it passingly, she did it for him in Spanish. Otherwise we would have needed a translator and she wouldn't let me translate for him. I was like uhhhhhhh?!? Then I had to fill in the date of my divorce and I COULD NOT remember when it was finalized! I literally thought we would be bringing the paper home and filling it out. The clerk was really nice and let me call my attorney (kind of no-no to use cell phones there I guess) to get the date. Whew, so stressful! Anyway, it's done and we're planning on returning to that courthouse to get married on Thursday! ACK!!!!! So happy!!!!!

Hi Tony,

I have Googled this before and there are a couple of good YouTube videos that are Manila Embassy specific for the questions for the interview. I would do the research and then email Daisy the links.

Also, there is an excellent blog from a Filipina, Erika Presson, that is super helpful for Filipinos immigrating via K-1 to the US. It's step by step guide that also gives tips and reviews along the way. It is so complete and well maintained that you almost don't need VJ for any help if you are doing a K-1 visa. The website is www.mrspresson.com

When I Googled "K-1 interview questions" a couple of immigration attorneys also popped up and had some good info.

As Amhara has suggested, every embassy has their own mindset about the beneficiary and their motives for immigration to the US. I would this that someone such as Sabrina coming from Germany (modern like the US) would have a genuine relationship and coming for true love. On the other hand, those coming from third world countries may have other motives/agendas and get scrutinized a little more.

Having said that, I have also read and seen video reviews of the Manila embassy and they seem to be pretty light touch as long as your ducks are lines up and they don't see any red flags.
