delay in interview scheduling

my father filled for my brother and I...I will turn 22 this April and my brother will turn 21 this March.my father sent in the AOS and my brother had a checklist and I had a case complete ..my father called them to continue processing of my case and they told him to send an email to verify that ...is almost three months now but we heard nothing from them.my father called them last week and they told him my case is being process to the supervisor so we should wait another 42 days for interview ..our visa category is IR2...why r they delaying in scheduling the interview date?
