Hi Folks,

Outstanding web site! Thanks

Question: Should the Fiance Letter of Intent be notarized? I thought about this after my Russian Fiance signed, scanned, and sent back to me via email attachment. I read the instructions for the I-129F, but didn't read a requirement for a notary, but one never knows in this process.

I'm hoping no issues with her being Russian; she is 56 and I am 60, so I hope our unstable relations with Russia Government will not impact the processing of the I-129F.

Thanks in advance.

No notary is needed at any point in the process. It might be more appropriate to have your fiancee sign it and send it to you by mail. It's not a rule, but there are many stories on here that state they got a RFE for not having a wet ink signature. In the end though it's your choice to try it.

Nothing is required to be notarized. Just a "wet" signature is all they want. You CANNOT used a scanned copy.

Concur. You should really do a wet ink, safer and almost certainly is faster in the run,

Thanks all for the answer. Wet ink it is. Do you think we will have any hassles with scrutiny because she is from Russia?
