it is strongly advised for immigrants to carry proof of lawful presence with themselves at every step of the immigration process.

Hi again!

Is it enough to carry my EAD/AP combo card on me when I travel between states (By road and by air both)? As it serves as both govt. issued photo ID as well as proof of status?

Yes, that's what I'm really hoping for! Btw, when was your NOA1 date and when are you planning to call them?

Hi. It hits 78days from my noa1 date. :clock:

I just called USCIS to request an inquiry for my EAD (http://www.uscis.gov...ng-more-75-days). So we will see if it works or not.

They asked me bunch of questions such as my case#, phone#, address, name, e-mail address and so on.

And I was told that i should call them back if I still don't hear anything in 30days.

All we can do is just waiting i guess!

I know how you all feel.....it took 80 days for our EAD and we did not have an RFE either!!! Not sure why some go through quickly and others dont.....think it just depends on who's desk your file lands! I did make a service request on day 75....not sure if it really did anything or not???

I just called USCIS to request an inquiry ! I hope i can hear something soon too! :dancing:

Got an update today that my EAD card has been mailed :D

We also got a letter saying I need proof of vaccinations but not to do anything yet (the form was filled out incorrectly during my medical) so that's frustrating but at least technically it isn't an RFE, just something I have to prove at a later date.

I am so upset right now... I am at 83 days from my NOA1 and got my fingerprints on April 15. I was hoping for an approval anytime now and when I looked at my case a few minutes ago I saw that it said RFE for the I-131 and the I-765... I am sure I sent every documents needed and maybe even more than requested...

I guess I will just have to wait... Again... :(

Choose "other". Your current immigration status is "Adjustment Applicant" and it is not listed, so your case fits in the "other" category.

Good luck! :)

Hi again!

Is it enough to carry my EAD/AP combo card on me when I travel between states (By road and by air both)? As it serves as both govt. issued photo ID as well as proof of status?

Yes it is, because just like you said the combo card is not only a proof of lawful presence but also a government issued photo ID as well.

Safe travels. :)

Thanks! Coming from a low-fraud country, I'm next to positive it will be a breeze but I know I'm going to be as nervous as hell anyway.

Here's what we're taking:

  • All USCIS correspondence since I entered the country, including the NOA-1s for green card, EAD and AP; the NOA for biometrics; the NOA for the interview appointment; and email printouts of the case status updates that approve my EAD and AP
  • Originals and copies of my birth certificate, his birth certificate, our marriage certificate and his divorce decree
  • My I-94
  • Our passports

For supporting evidence, we have:

  • A Waste Management bill and other correspondence with both our names on it
  • A statement from our joint chequing account
  • A greeting card he gave me for Mother's Day (I'm a four-legged momma)
  • A greeting card his brother and sister-in-law gave us on our wedding day
  • A Facebook printout of a recent selfie
  • A Facebook printout with lots of wonderful messages from friends on our wedding portrait
  • Our wedding album
  • My application to the Canadian government to declare me a non-resident of Canada (it's for tax and investment purposes and it only has my name on it but it means I'm dead serious about being here)

You are very welcome. :) I'm so sorry that you have been waiting for so long and now you got an RFE. :( I hope that you will receive the RFE hardcopy in mail soon and you can send what they want right away and then they mail you the combo card quickly.

Also, since you said you move this week, (if there is a way) you could contact the appropriate person to make sure your old mailbox still gets checked every now and then, just to be on the safe side. USCIS sometimes is slow when it comes to address change and there have been some cases where they actually sent some papers to the old address.

I'm happy for you that you will have a big wedding next week and you will see your family and friends!

I truly wish you all the best! :)
