Well, I had biometrics on March 31st and my case was approved only yesterday. I understand your frustration but you knew before applying for AOS that the normal processing time for EAD/AP is up to 90 days. It sucks but that is how immigration works, it is a waiting game. We all miss out on some events. At least you are lucky because Canada is close and you can visit your friend after you get your AP.

Good luck to you!

That's true, but since I read of so many cases being approved way before the 90 days, I mean at least for the AP I kind of took the risk. My K1 took way less than what we expected so I thought it would be the same time!! Gosh how wrong I was for thinking that, but oh well I guess I just gotta sit and keep waiting.. At least I already have my social security and drivers license with my married name. I was kind of surprise they gave it to me, but they did. I've been reading that a lot of people haven't been able to get a social security or state ID, I'm happy I was able to convert my Canadian License into a Wisconsin License without having to do the test..woohooo

See, on the bright side you already have a Social Security Card and a State ID. I have a Social Security Card too but still with my maiden name on it, so after receiving my EAD card I gotta go back to the SSA office to apply for a new card. Plus, like many people I also haven't been able to get a State ID without my EAD. We all have reasons to get frustrated with the process sometimes.
