I understand your confusion, a lot of AOS from Non-Family Based Visa applicants make this mistake and post in this subforum instead of the other one.

On this website 99% of the AOS cases are via marriage. However, the owners of the site decided to make 2 seprate sub-forums for K-visa (Family Based visa) AOS applicants and all the other visa AOS applicants.

K-1 is a family based visa (fiance visa), our relationships already went through scrunity and an interview at the US embassy in our home countries. Our AOS process is different, for example we don't have to file I-130, we already proved that our relationship was bonafide before we came to the US, at our US Embassy interview.

People in that other sub forum are all adjusting through marriage as well, so you will find plenty of cases like yours.

Ahhh, that makes complete sense. Thanks again for information and good luck to you as well!

is this really possible that I will be interviewed first without my EAD nor AP yet? Thank you. I've been checking at my work permit almost every single day at our mailbox. Anyway, goodluck and God Bless to all of us March AOS filers we can do this.

It is possible and it wouldn't cause any problems. A lot of people have been in the same situation. Some got EAD/AP a few days before the interview, some haven't got it at all and went to the interview without the combo card. You are very lucky that roughly in a month you will be done with AOS!

You're welcome. :) That's great that you get prepared, but also there is no need to stress too much over evidence that you don't have. USCIS is aware too that a couple that has been living together for a few months just can't have as much evidence as a couple that has been living together for years. So just gather what you have (joint lease or mortgage, joint bank accounts, insurance, photos, etc.) and go to the interview with a positive mindset. I hope it all goes well for you. :)

why can't things be simple? When the biometrics appointmentry still had not be received a month after NOA, I Called and put in service request. I was told I would have an answer in 15 days. Guess what, 15 days later and nothing. I call again and finally learnt that the appointment was returned as undeliverable and biometrics had been for 3/30. They would not let me reschedule over the phone and said I would receive a letter in about 2weeks. Got thE letter today and what a disappointment, it is the original appointment leter with instructions on how to reschedule. I cant even call, they want me to check off a box and mail appointme by letter back for them to resCheadle my appointment and mail me a new appointment letter, so basically, th e way USCIS moves, that Is Another month. I am going to walk in to ASC Monday, and see if they take pItty on me, wish me luck.
