I don't think there's any reason to worry, some cases just get approved quicker than others. Trust me, this is coming from someone who's K-1 took almost ten months to be approved while some were approved in less than a month. So, I guess I'm accostumed to waiting. I'm ready to work too though, being stuck inside all day is no joke. When I'm not doing chores inside, I try to stay busy by going to coffee shops, writing, reading, exploring the city and getting involved in any activity I can. Before you know your EAD card will be here! :)

Had my BIOMETRICS yesterday in Atlanta and it was a 10/10! I arrived at 9:30 for my 10am appt. everyone was super nice and the office was run so efficiently, I was impressed! I ended up walking out of the door BEFORE my original appointment was supposed to start, now THAT's what I'm talking about. Awesome! The whole thing took 25mins. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. I will say though that arriving early really helped me because when I was leaving, (right before 10am), the line had stretched outside the door, so had I shown up right on time I would've been caught in that.

A few tips for anyone who hasn't had biometrics yet: 1) go early if you can, if they can see you early they will and you'll cut down on time.

2) Leave all electronics and large bags in your car--only small wallets and your paperwork is allowed in the building (if you bring them

inside you will be made to trot back to your car.)

3) Do NOT fill out paperwork while standing in line, I saw several people get yelled at for doing that. Fill everything out BEFORE you join the line.

4) I ONLY took my passport and my appointment letter, no other documents were needed. If you feel safer bringing other things then that's fine but just know it's not required.

Now to sit back and wait for EAD/AP :)

Calm down. I also filed on 3/3 (same day as you) and I had biometrics on 03/31. I haven't heard anything either. Don't worry we are totally within the normal processing times. EAD normally takes 60-90 days to be approved. My timeline estimate says that my EAD will likely be approved between 05/12 and 05/15.

I got my EAD NOA1 on March 2nd and had my Bio appointment on the 3/24 and I haven't been approved yet. Seems it usually takes around 70 days, which means i'm not expecting anything till maybe the 2nd week of May. Nearly there!!

Just seems like there have been a few people posting recently about interviews getting scheduled and they had dates after mine.....

True, but their "Ready to be scheduled an interview" case updates have nothing to do with EAD approvals. AOS and EAD/AP applications even get processed at different locations. AOS applications end up in local USCIS offices and EAD/AP applications are processed in NBC (National Benefits Center) in Missouri.

By the way, not every K1 AOS applicant will end up having an interview. Some K1 AOSers (randomly chosen by USCIS) get an interview waiver letter around 4-5 months after filing and they don't receive their greencard for at least another 6 months. So that means they have to wait a year in total from filing to have their greencard mailed.

Those who are chosen to have an interview are lucky, and those who are chosen to have their interview waived need to wait more. AOS is a waiting game and is not always fair. On the bright side, all EAD/AP applications are approved 60-90 days from filing either way, whether you will have an interview or not.

Adjusting from H1-B.

This sub-forum is for Family Based a.k.a. K-visa AOS applicants. Please post in the "Adjustment of Status from Work, Student & Tourist Visas" sub-forum. There you will find cases like yours.

Here is the thread for the March 2015 AOS filers in the "Adjustment of Status from Work, Student & Tourist Visas" sub-forum: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/539080-march-2015-filing-for-aos/

OK, will do thanks. Thought it was considered family based as it is not a work sponsored AOS, I just happened to be on a work visa but am getting my GC via marriage.

I understand your confusion, a lot of AOS from Non-Family Based Visa applicants make this mistake and post in this subforum instead of the other one.

On this website 99% of the AOS cases are via marriage. However, the owners of the site decided to make 2 seprate sub-forums for K-visa (Family Based visa) AOS applicants and all the other visa AOS applicants.

K-1 is a family based visa (fiance visa), our relationships already went through scrunity and an interview at the US embassy in our home countries. Our AOS process is different, for example we don't have to file I-130, we already proved that our relationship was bonafide before we came to the US, at our US Embassy interview.

People in that other sub forum are all adjusting through marriage as well, so you will find plenty of cases like yours.
