I filed my i-130 to bring my husband here in August our priority date is Aug 7, 2014. I submitted an E-Request the 13th of February and was sent an email stating we would get a response by March 7. I received another email feb 20 stating our file is on a processing hold until security checks are finished. Is that email the response to the E-Request or should I expect an actual answer to my petition by March 7?? What security checks could they still be doing this far into it I've never had anything in my history for any kind of red flags that would need extra time to process a back ground check on me. I've called the USCIS and they really are no help and it's obvious they are reading a script. Our daughter is 9 months now and it's fustrating that there's nothing that can be done to speed this up. Has anyone experienced thier case being in a processing hold and how much longer could this possibly take :(

Wasn't your previous fiancee visa denial for medical/drug reasons?

Maybe they require some extra checking proof that all that has been cleared up.

If I am wrong, I apologize.

Thank you, goodnight and may your gods go with you",

Still waiting I filed another e-request and they said our case is pending adjudication not sure what that means but I'm just trying to be patient :( we are going to visit my husband at the end of May I definitely need a vacation. Our daughter will be a year old on May 13 so praying it won't be too much longer she's growing up so fast and it's killing him that he can be here with us :/

That's sad because you have a baby and it makes it harder... but allow yourself to be hopeful, because a "case pending adjudication" is not the same as "on hold due to background checks pending" ... i think? :luv:

Praying for us all still stuck in the USCIS limbo of security! (F)

Hi clusvr..

I got tired of that and decided to shoot an email to NSC followup. They asked for it to be the citizen to actually communicate with them, so my husband sent the email today.

This definitely gets looked at as we had that reply only 2 days later... you might want to try and do that, but you have to make sure to include the latest service request number and it has to be overdue for a reply.

All the best,

UnaMexicana

Got the response from the E-request:

Recently, you contacted United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) concerning your case. Below is a summary of what we found and how the issue has been or may be resolved.

USCIS makes every effort to process cases within the projected timeframes and in the order in which they were received; however, your case has not cleared all required security checks at this time. We cannot provide a specific date on which a final decision will be made on your case, and we appreciate your continued patience.

We hope this information is helpful to you.

Still no real answer :/

How do I contact the NSC? we are at 9 months of waiting. Was the response to your case or just to the service request??

Spoke to a tier 2 customer service person yesterday and was told basically all I can do is wait and she noticed I'd done 3 E-requests and told me its best not to do so many because each time they have to pull my file it puts everything on hold while they look into it. I'm not sure how that stops the security checks from being completed which is still the excuse that I'm getting that our case hasn't moved forward yet. Has anyone been told anything similar? I'm still waiting to hear back from my senator not sure if that was even worth doin at this point it's 10 months in now.

APPROVED!!! Finally ? what do I do next? lol

Congratulations! I read the earlier posts and all I can say is ugh! I've said it before but I wouldn't wish this process on my enemies.

http://www.visajourney.com/content/i130guide1

You're now at the point in the process within the guide where it says... "A few weeks after..."

In brief:

1. Wait for the email stating the NVC has received the case from USCIS. Don't wait more than about 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, start calling the NVC phone # daily. You might have to hangup and redial up to 80 times before they finally put you on hold. Don't give up.

2. Once you have the email with your NVC Case #, skip to the last step, i.e. send in your Supporting Docs and your AOS Docs as soon as possible. Don't do the steps serially like the NVC advises. Send in your docs ASAP. Later, as the online fee invoices and DS-260 online application become available, complete these steps. If you send in the Docs in parallel with the other steps, you might get a response (and hopefully case completed) in about 2 or 3 months. If you do them serially it could take 4+ months to get to case complete.

3. Once NVC completes the case, they send it to the consulate in your husband's home country. Then they'll assign you an interview date. Then if everything goes alright, they'll issue you a visa.

Good luck!
