off topic...rant...i saw this post on the embassy fb visa chat....it's so sad how our US "policy" is dictating when people can be reunited with their families, when they marry, etc... this is tragic, and along with all of us here, my heart feels so sad  for these people having to wait at least this long to get their visas, and then guess what? maybe they get AP or denial or whatever after interview...then what? they've waisted a decade + trying to be with their family??? it's tragic.

  • একলা পথিক My father applied imigration visa for me.My father, mother and younger sister live threr.I am 28 years old unmarried. So it is very difficult for me to stay here without my family. So i want to go usa very soon. How is it possible plz advice me.

U.S. Embassy-Dhaka You need to wait until your petition is ready. 7-9 years total for your petition. PLEASE DO NOT GET MARRIED until your father is a U.S. Citizen, or you will kill your petition. Once your father is a U.S. Citizen, you can decide to stay unmarried, and travel sooner, or get married, and travel 3 1/2 years later, BUT WITH your spouse and children. We do not like to separate families.

It is extremely sad and evil and once your turn 21 I believe if not 18 you have to wait at least 10 years for some odd reason. This system just doesn't make any sense and AP and denial is more common than anyone is aware of unless your in it. My heart just breaks for her and the response, "We do not like to separate families" is a slap in the face to all of us. They live and enjoy separating us, it's their ultimate joy!

By the way sweet angel nothing is off topic here, nothing!

btw here's my post on the visa chat with embassy....here's what they said:

    • Hello Mam. I am a US Citizen, I applied for my husband's CR1 July 2013. He had his successful interview June 2014, then has since been in Administrative Processing. Can you tell me how long (approximately) is AP at your U.S. Embassy-Dhaka when nothing else is needed? Whenever I call NVC or email the Embassy they say nothing else is needed except to wait. I really miss my husband so much! Thank you for your time and Please answer God Bless America...btw his English is Excellent!

On hold with NVC. A bunch of people from 1/12 through 1/15 have got CC over the past few days and I'm starting to get nervous that it's going to be a checklist. I called NVC last night and nothing. I really, really hope that there's an answer tonight. We're on day 59 today and tomorrow's our first wedding anniversary. CC would be the greatest gift.

Met in 2010 on a forum for a mutual interest. Became friends.
2011: Realized we needed to evaluate our status as friends when we realized we were talking about raising children together.

2011/2012: Decided we were a couple sometime in, but no possibility of being together due to being same sex couple.

June 26, 2013: DOMA overturned. American married couples ALL have the same federal rights at last! We can be a family!

June-September, 2013: Discussion about being together begins.

November 13, 2013: Meet in person to see if this could work. It's perfect. We plan to elope to Boston, MA.

March 13, 2014 Married!

May 9, 2014: Petition mailed to USCIS

May 12, 2014: NOA1.
October 27, 2014: NOA2. (5 months, 2 weeks, 1 day after NOA1)
October 31, 2014: USCIS ships file to NVC (five days after NOA2) Happy Halloween for us!

November 18, 2014: NVC receives our case (22 days after NOA2)

December 17, 2014: NVC generates case number (50 days after NOA2)

December 19, 2014: Receive AOS bill, DS-261. Submit DS-261 (52 days after NOA2)

December 20, 2014: Pay AOS Fee

January 7, 2015: Receive, pay IV Fee

January 10, 2015: Complete DS-260

January 11, 2015: Send AOS package and Civil Documents
March 23, 2015: Case Complete at NVC. (70 days from when they received docs to CC)

May 6, 2015: Interview at Montréal APPROVED!

May 11, 2015: Visa in hand! One year less one day from NOA1.

UUUURGH. 40 minutes on hold, there's the promising click of someone picking up then... silence. It turns out NVC is having problems with their damn call system dropping calls when someone finally freaking gets to them. URGH URGH URGH URGH.

Eh, I'm pretty much convinced that it's going to be a checklist. And the lady I got this evening was so stupidly flippant I just wanted to punch her down the line. She wanted to know why I was calling when we're not actually at 60 days until tomorrow. I said because I knew several people with the same scan date with case completes. She said yeah, well, we're saturated. I said yeah, well, I also know people with scan dates three days after mine with case completes. She then said 'we're completely saturated, obviously, don't bother calling back until next week.'

Just. I'm so tired of waiting. I just want to go HOME. And it feels like it's going to be a checklist. I can just FEEL it and that means rather than getting to move in May/June, it'll be probably August and I just am so TIRED of this.

Ugh, god, I'm so sorry. What a rude response.

I'll remain hopeful on your behalf. I know this process makes it almost impossible to be hopeful. Sending you hugs and love. (F)

Called NVC just for fun. Funniest conversation I've had in a while.

Me: Any news on an interview date yet?

NVC Rep: Nope, not yet. Sorry we're still waiting to schedule you.
Me: Okay, thanks. Oh, any chance you can tell me if they have completed scheduling the April interviews for Cairo yet?
NVC Rep: Sorry, I don't have that information. I can tell you however, we like to give people enough time to prepare for their interview so we try to give people at least 4 weeks notice. With that being said, don't expect an April interview because April is only a couple of weeks away and that wouldn't allow you enough time to prepare.

Me: Yes, you are correct, April 1st is only a couple of weeks away, but April 9th just so happens to be 4 weeks away, which would mean there is still plenty of time to schedule an April interview.

NVC Rep: Uhhhhhh... Well... We want to be sure to give people as much time as possible, 4 weeks is just the minimum, but we prefer to give more as courtesy to the beneficiary to prepare.

Me: Hahahahahahahaha! Uh... Okay... I don't know how forcing a husband and wife to be apart longer is courteous.
NVC Rep: (A moment of silence)
Me: Hello? Are you still there?
NVC Rep: Umm... Mam, it's to allow adequate time to complete the medical and such.
Me: Hahahaha!!! If my husband found out this moment his interview was tomorrow, he'd go to the doctors home, knock on his door to wake him up, and wave a little money in front of his face. He'd have his medical results in his hand and be on his way to Cairo within the hour. LMAO!
NVC Rep: Mam, is there anything else I can help you with?
Me: Hahahahaha! No. Thanks for the laugh though, I really needed it.

Still nothing when I finally got through.

These people you've seen the Jan 12-15 or whatever CCs for, have they been EP or regular mail? I know back in December when I was waiting for my CC, regular mail and EP were running on different schedules (with EP a few days behind). It depends, I think earlier in 2014 EP was ahead. Just making sure you're not comparing your case to regular mail because it probably doesn't mean anything! Good luck!

Thank you for the reminder. I still just have this super strong feeling I'm getting a checklist for some reason, but maybe there's still hope.

Can't believe they are allowing this to get worse daily it's what confuses me of what to do with our case, do I cancel the I-130 and start again they say it takes less time and don't actually think it does or just stick it out and avoid all the other road bumps that consume time?

I'm so sorry sweet heart and I'm praying you get your anniversary gift. Happy Anniversary sweet heart, next year you will be in your husbands arms in the USA. God bless you both. (F) (L) (F)

Keep calling even if they drop you this is way to important.:)

Still nothing when I finally got through.

Then it will be tomorrow morning :) or evening but tomorrow, maybe even later tonight. :) (F)

I'm so sorry this women had no compassion what so ever, it's just a job for her and wishes we would never call so she can do her nails. But ignore her you call when you want to it's your right. :D
