Can anybody please tell me why I have not received my welcome letter yet? It is really depressing everybody else is receiving theirs but I am still waiting. My PD is April 1, 2014. :(

I called up NVC yesterday, but they just said I would get it within 42 days. I asked them why and they said every case is different. Of course every case is different, I know that already. But why does it have to be mine? Even my friend whose PD is end of April got his welcome letter this afternoon. I am happy for him but at the same time sad for myself and my wife.

We are the same.My PD is May 2014 and I'm still waiting for my welcome letter and whenever I will call NVC they will always tell me that my PD is not yet current and reading some post in here that there are some June filers are now starting to proceed NVC. We can't do anything about it but to wait. This process needs a lot of patience. Just stay positive! We will get it soon ?

Yes I always suggest before that as soon as ds 261 is available you can fill it up but some people keeps telling me that we need to wait for the welcome letter and we must follow the NVC instruction but the decision is still up to us. Anyway I posted an attachment. I wonder if this is what you need to be able to pay the AOS and IV fee. I'm not really sure. Let us wait for others comment about this.

Did you go ahead and fill ds-261??

Even though I completed ds-261 on friday the 15th, just today the 19th I received the welcome letter. It was dated the 15th though.

Fee still not invoiced but we aren't in a rush since we're having a little trouble finding a suitable joint sponsor.

Did you have them review ds261 over the phone or did you just check after 2/3 days and saw that you could pay?

It's been 4 days since I completed but still not able to payment. Wondering if I need to call them or should I just wait it out?

If your AOS is paid that's the time you will call them to review your ds 261 so that they will open the IV. ?

Mr & Mrs. RC, thanks a lot for your reply, always very kind :)

Unfortunately, I'm still not able to pay the AOS fee and - as far as I've seen on VJ - it is something that is affecting all of us..

Anyways, if I remember correctly you are the beneficiary as my wife is; therefore, I'd like to receive a confirmation from you (and whoever may contribute on this :) )

We were wondering if the documents my wife needs to gather are the ones (and only those) listed in the welcome letter under "Supporting Documents" (for example, birth certificate, court and prison records, police certificate and so forth).

Actually, I am just thinking if the NVC also needs the above mentioned documents (birth certificate, court and prison records, police certificate) also from me (the petitioner).

We both (me and my wife) do not live in our country of birth and some document may be pretty difficult to get..

Ah, the very last thing: at step 3 of the welcome letter, they also mention "Submit visa application form"; do you guys know what they exactly mean by that?

Thanks a lot in advance for your help on this!

I am also waiting to pay fees, unable to login to the FEE PAYMENT site. :(

Question: If I submit AOS and IV package before DS-260 and IV fee submission is that fine? or I have to wait till DS-260 submission

Supporting documents is only for the beneficiary. You are only going to provide is the financial documents. Whatever listed at the document cover sheet just provide everything to avoid checklist. What they are talking about " Submit visa application form" is the ds 260.,you can start fill it up online as soon as IV fee is paid.

Yes you can send your package after you paid your AOS. You can use the AOS barcoded sheet for IV package.

thanks a lot.

Few more question:

1. I am using I-864EZ for AOS. In Part 4b-d section I kept it blank. since I already count me and my spouse as 2 in 4 a. Do I have to write 1 in 4b. your spouse and c, d, e = 0?

2. for AOS I am providing below documents:

1. IRS TAX trascript 2014, 2013, 2012

2. Federal Income tax 2014, 2013, 2012- not sure about this, since I am attaching tax transcript already

3. FORM W2 - 2014, 2013, 2012

4. Evidence of income- Last 6 paystab and Employment Verification letter

5. Proof of relationship- marriage certificate- do I have to provide this?

6. Proof of US Status- GC Photocopy- do I have to provide this?

for IV-

1. Spouse Birth certificate

2. Marriage Certificate

3. Photocopy of Valid Passport- First 6 Page

4. Photographs - 2 copy 2X2 of my spouse

5. Police Certificate.

Do i need to check enclose Photocopies for IV?

Mr & Mrs. RC, thank you for your usual kindess!

As you know, I am trying to have the situation clear because I want to help my wife in collecting all the documents she needs to send to the NVC.

However, the problem is that I am not sure about some of the Supporting Documents listed in the Welcome Letter.

I do not want to re-write what I have just said in the "welcome letter step by step" thread (and then make this thread confusing and lead it to off topic) but if you can have a look at the question I have, it would be great and extremely helpful for me.

By the way, still unable to pay the AOS fee..

Write 1 and in total.. You write 2.

Yes you're submitting only photocopies. The only original you'll be submitting is the AOS FORM.

BY the way, only the data page of your passport is required.
