Hi Guys...Interview is set up for April 29th! Starting to get everying organized and ready!!

I haven't filed my 2014 taxes yet..so I won't have a transcript. Will that be a issue?

If you filed your 2014 taxes on April 15th or before April 15th not electronically (by mail), online transcript of 2014 won't be generated until few weeks later. Copies of 2014 tax return will be accepted. It will be fine.

If filed electronically, transcript of 2014 should be shown up fast.

yes sir.my question was,as shes doesnt work now, becaz she is not in usa. its not gonna be problem right?

Wellshe will have to show her proof of re-establish domicile. If you didn't do that at NVC. That's if they ask. Don;t know. Why would it be a problem she being with you. You have a co-sponsor. That's what the co-sponsor is for.

She can always fill out an updated I-864 for 2014, 2013, 2012 and of course it would be $0. Pretty easy,.

Hi Azim. In the first place, DWheels is a woman.

If your wife has no income for 2014, she still has to prove why she does not have to file 2014 income taxes. She either files a 2014 return with no income, or she has to write a letter (and I don't know what format it has to be in - sorry) as to why she is not required to pay 2014 taxes. You will need this information/letter with you for your interview, in case they ask you why she doesn't have a 2014 tax return.

All US citizens and/or LPRs are required to file income tax documents (unless they are exempt) on ALL income no matter where they live in the world. Just because your spouse doesn't currently live in the US does not exempt her from filing a return.

Hi dwheels76
i have a question bro,if u can answer it for me plzz.
me and my wife, who is petitioner is living overseas since day one of our wedding.
my question is she has only 2011,2012,2013 tax transcript.but our interview looks like in MaY 2015
will it be a problem that she doesnt have 2014 transcipt?
note: we have co-sponsor too.who is her brother,he has very good income.we have all his tax transcript including 2014

your wife still has to file some tax return for 2014 even though she lives abroad...She might file no income return with IRS for 2014 since she didn't earn any income in the US...but, she should file some tax return with the IRS (she can file 1040EZ) ...then, u can take this return along with 2014 return of your co-sponsor...

Others, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Hubby had his medical yesterday and has his interview Monday. They told him he can't pick up the results until the 31st! What!? Our case was expedited once we had our CC so he couldn't make the medical 10 days beforehand and yesterday was the only time they could get him in. Dwheels76 what happens in cases like this is he can't take the medical to the interview? They told him to take the receipt they gave him to prove he went. I emailed the embassy to see if they can rush his results. One of my fellow Jamaican's had her medical Monday and can pick up her results tomorrow so I don't understand why they are making us wait til the 31st?!

U cross my mind today I was wondering what happened, but I am shocked that they would schedule it for Wednesday knowing that it would not be sufficient time to get it back for the interview. U will be able to go to the interview it's just going to slow down things because u'll have to wait for the medical to be sent to the embassy. I'm sorry you have to go through this but try to keep positive atleast u have your interview and its only a few days away so try to focus on that.

Oh okay. Just a note for everyone. NVC doesn't approve anything this is why so many get jammed up at embassy. All NVC is is a document intake facility. They are only there to make sure all documents are there and that you make the amount at or above guidelines.

Many believe because they got past NVC they are okay and get denied at embassy. NVC merely "ACCEPTS". They do not "approve". I know this is a Big problem at my embassy Lagos. So many on VJ keep saying "current salary is all they care about". Nope not at Lagos they want previous and current above the line. NVC could care less. The CO has final authority on your AOS package.

So yes I would spell it out if you have to have an accountant write up a nice writeup on what is self employed do so. Someone at that embasy is very confused so spell it out for them and don;t stop until they say No mas! :goofy:

I see what you're saying, that's good to know. I guess the reason I'm so deeply angry is that we haven't done a single thing wrong. We gave them EXACTLY what THEY asked for in terms of a self-employed joint sponsor. We didn't just throw caution to the wind and decide we would just make it up as we went along. We carefully examined exactly what a self-employed person needed to show income, and we submitted that. We were SO CAREFUL. We OBSESSIVELY followed their instructions and some bloody CO hjust doesn't know the rules well enough, and has made my life a living hell? I can't eat, I don't sleep without medication, I have lost 3kg in the last 4 days. I am a weightlifter, I can't train because I keep bursting into tears. They have ignored THEIR OWN RULES.

Even the congresswoman we contacted is like "what the hell...." and every single american I have talked to knows that self-employed people don't get W2s. So why didn't this person, whose JOB IT IS to know that stuff, not know that?

I am in hell.

Thats just ridiculous! I hope it gets sorted out really quickly for you.

I also have a joint sponsor and we sent the tax transcript for previous years, I hope it doesnt cause any issues.

When you submitted your AOS, did you submit the schedules or tax transcripts?

Full tax returns and all schedules. JUST LIKE THE NVC SAYS TO DO. We followed absolutely everything to the exact letter.
