Congratulations. Welcome to the group. I have added you to the spreadsheet.

Yes you have to file you taxes your 2014 taxes regardless that you have a joint sponsor.

For your joint sponsor he also has to have:

  • His 2014, 2013, 2012 filed
  • letter of employment
  • most current pay stub
  • I-864
  • Proof of citizenship or LPR or naturalization.

All originals at the interview.

Thank you so much dwheels for replying.

Yes I am very aware of my joint sponsor.

Will not only 2014 tax return be enough?

I can get the previous years from him but I dunno how long it will tak for him to produce that.

Also how do I go about my taxes please. What form so I fill out since I worked as an independent contractor ?

Do you know what forms I fill out to file my taxes please?

Any help will be appreciated

Hey guys, has anyone that received a CC this week been scheduled an interview ?? From the looks of the spreadsheet it seems we are all still waiting. I'm so impatient lol. Side note, I wish the spreadsheet had a consulate column so I could see which consulates were scheduling from India. Lol.

Thank you.. i found that one but now im trying to determine whats my ds 260 number? Do you know where i find this information

On the DS-260 receipt it has a confirmation number on it. That's what I used since there weren't any other numbers on there. That number is a bar code number 2 along with the case number. Hope this helps.

Do you have a co-sponsor? 2014 tax returns would be do. Whether your embassy asks for them or not is your risk, I would surely have it done so I am not risking being put in AP.

My interview is scheduled for APR 15 2015 Europe Time, do i need tax return for 2014 on interview day? Cause legaly my co-sponsor can do taxes till APR 15 2015 USA Time, wich is +1 day! I have his most recent taxes od 2011,2012 and 2013!

Dear Nertilduraku - the answer is: it depends. Most likely, you will not need them, especially if your sponsor is significantly over the poverty line for your situation. But...your embassy/consulate could also want you to prove that your sponsor continues to be over the poverty line. Ask your sponsor for his 2014 W-2 - or some kind of proof that he made enough money in 2014. If they ask, this could be exactly what they want to see.

If, and this is a very big if, the consulate/embassy has any major questions, they may place you in AP until your sponsor files.

Your case was approved based on the 2011.2012. and 2013 numbers. But try to have proof of 2014 in your hands.

Good luck!

Had my interview today in Sydney and........ APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!! :) omg it feels like its not real yet! its been 15mths since we applied and its finally over!

We had a huge scare cos the CO officer almost rejected us because he didnt read the police check correctly!

He thought it was just a name check in my married name and he said it has to be in both married and maiden names or have the fingerprint check as well. but i HAD gotten fingerprint check as well so i pointed that out to him and he said 'Sorry your right" and said we were approved then :) and that we should have our visa in hand by the end of the week. YAY

This is so good to hear!

I nearly had a heart attack, but then remembered that even though my AFP check is name only, it has both my names clearly on it so I think I'll be fine.

In Australia, you can either get a "name check" or a "fingerprint check". The NVC says they require a fingerprint check. The Sydney Consulate says they require a name check. Go figure.

Anyway, if you have only used one name in Australia, you only need one name check. But if you have changed your name, you need to make sure you get a name check in EVERY name you have used.

Or...solve the problem easily by just getting a fingerprint check in the first place.

This information is specific to AUSTRALIA. Your country may be different

Sukie in NY

I have even printed out the email they sent me saying that they only need a name check, just in case, lol!

Today I received my passport and Visa in the mail !!!!!!!!!!! Its finally all over!!!!!
